[00:00:44] Uncensored Home for World of Warcraft news and opinions. This is Unshackled Fury.
[00:00:52] The reckoning is indeed at hand, in more ways than one.
[00:01:28] While we open our anniversary gifts to find ... a bit of an off-smell.
[00:01:33] so welcome back for episode 155 of your uncensored home for world of warcraft news and opinions
[00:01:40] unshackled fury i'm your host berserker and with me once again is the man who knows the difference
[00:01:47] between your and your he is mr jez cordon welcome back again good sir hey man rock and roll baby
[00:01:57] right so for those listening i have got some kind of virus right now so i apologize in advance if i
[00:02:05] sound nasally or low energy we will persevere much like just pretend i'm forsaken or undead for
[00:02:13] this episode and you're uh you're already getting in a character for halloween
[00:02:20] yeah that's yeah that's what it is yeah that's what it is i'm blighted well
[00:02:29] you're testing it out on our behalf i appreciate that uh so we're back after a three-week break
[00:02:36] as we talked about last time and uh jez i think since the last time you've celebrated a birthday
[00:02:42] i recall uh yes i did i completely forgot to be honest yeah did you do anything special for your
[00:02:50] birthday i was like wait what birthday i was like oh yeah i did have a birth whose birthday uh yeah
[00:02:55] my girlfriend made me the chocolate celebration cake from the warcraft cookbook um become like an
[00:03:02] annual tradition now and um if you've never made it i highly recommend it although not good for dieting
[00:03:09] because it's probably like 2 000 calories per slice very american coded it's so sugary and chocolatey but
[00:03:18] it is just it's heaven man it's like it's like chocolate base with chocolate cream filling and
[00:03:25] then more chocolate base and then more chocolate cream filling with strawberries on top it's um
[00:03:32] it's illegally tasty so do recommend it but yeah i didn't do much kind of got to that age now where it's
[00:03:39] just just just another day you know um just another day you have to do work still have to
[00:03:46] do all the usual stuff you know but hey that's the true sign of adulthood
[00:03:53] yeah gotta work on your birthday i always take my birthday off like i you know i have a summertime
[00:04:00] birthday and so growing up i always got it off for school and then once i became an adult and then
[00:04:06] things started bad that bad things always happen at work on my birthday like you know what fuck this
[00:04:10] i'm saving one vacation day a year and i'm just gonna make sure i take my birthday off because
[00:04:14] it's always crap and it ruins my birthday i will say that um uh what one cool thing about my company
[00:04:22] is that we do get our birthday off but oh we prefer it like a free birthday which is very nice and i
[00:04:29] appreciate very much however i was just so busy there was just no there was no way i could i could
[00:04:34] i could uh enjoy the the free day off this year but it's that time of year man and um
[00:04:41] you know work with uh you know tons of games coming out and black friday coming up and there was a prime
[00:04:48] day in october as well which is really busy yep um but uh but yeah we we we sort of we sort of
[00:04:57] crawled towards december where things hopefully start getting quieter in december you know black friday's
[00:05:03] over everyone's finished at christmas shopping no more games come out and all microsoft goes on
[00:05:09] vacation for like a whole month so i will be also hibernating by then look at you yeah well uh uh
[00:05:18] speaking of which uh like last time this episode will also be uh the last for the next three weeks
[00:05:27] because we're gonna skip a week because of something we're gonna talk about a little bit later
[00:05:30] just scheduling wise that didn't make sense to go two weeks so the next episode will be in another
[00:05:36] three weeks and then schedule depending uh i just banged my elbow on my desk uh one one more episode
[00:05:43] after that probably uh december 1st and then that will be our last episode for the year before we take
[00:05:48] a little uh well-deserved uh respite from uh this podcast landscape for a little bit i'm sure there's
[00:05:55] gonna be some fun stuff there but uh between here and there jez i have another stellar stupendous amazing
[00:06:04] fantastic groundbreaking earth shattering metal album of the week yeah and i will be stunned if
[00:06:12] you don't know this one uh because this one is i i swear people's grandmothers have at least heard
[00:06:18] one track off of this one going back hailing back from the 90s released on august 25th 1998
[00:06:29] hellbilly deluxe 13 tales of cadavers cavorting inside the spook show international by the one and only
[00:06:37] rob zombie i know i know of rob zombie i've never really listened to rob zombie though i have to admit
[00:06:45] the uh three primary tracks that i think people have heard on this in some form or another are
[00:06:51] dragula living dead girl and super beast and these things have been featured in all kinds of shit
[00:06:57] all over the place so i guarantee uh if you may not know the album by name you will definitely
[00:07:04] recognize at least one of these three tracks because they've just saturated pop culture
[00:07:09] probably forever uh but this was this was rob's first album after white zombie so folks might know
[00:07:18] white zombie being another uh fantastic metal band and this is his first foray after uh that group broke
[00:07:26] broke up disbanded pick your phrase um but there's a lot of really classic spooky halloweeny type stuff
[00:07:38] on this halloweeny that's a funny word uh there's all kinds of uh you know thematic elements that are
[00:07:45] appropriate for this time of year especially with uh halloween coming up so uh if you have not jammed
[00:07:51] that into your ear holes anytime recently i highly recommend it uh rob zombie who some folks may also know
[00:07:57] as a horror movie director and he had a trilogy of films uh related to the firefly family uh house of
[00:08:08] a thousand corpses uh devil's rejects and three from hell along with a halloween uh revival that he did
[00:08:16] and i think he might have done uh one or two others but uh devil's rejects for my money probably my
[00:08:23] favorite horror movie of all time i've watched it so many times it's infinitely quotable it's super
[00:08:29] fucked up and the soundtrack is just this glorious mix of like 70s pop folks shit it's so it's so unique
[00:08:39] and and strange but uh i truly truly love that movie so if you've never seen that uh you don't have to
[00:08:44] see the other ones just watch that one it's great i haven't seen that either oh my god it's super
[00:08:51] fucked up but it's really great and they're like the most messed up characters but in some way you're
[00:08:57] still rooting for them and uh you'll never look at clowns the same way once again and tootie fucking
[00:09:05] fruity will enter your lexicon in a way that you just haven't expected up until now i feel like i feel
[00:09:13] like a lot of people of a certain age have a clown phobia is it because of this movie
[00:09:18] it's it's probably mostly because of uh two movies uh one being it oh yeah it was the you know the
[00:09:26] original one that they did way back i think it was like the late 80s uh but also those of us of a
[00:09:31] certain age the scariest movie for me personally like the one that like makes me like have nightmares
[00:09:37] is killer clowns from outer space oh that is did you know that beyond fucked up made a video game
[00:09:44] about that recently i recall something about that and i think i just ran screaming for the hills because
[00:09:52] that movie's fucked up my uh my friend works on that game really yeah he loves it well but uh but
[00:10:01] yeah i'm that's cool man i've been uh i've been getting into i don't know i did we talk about it
[00:10:07] on this show maybe maybe it was your recommendation i can't remember but i've been getting into devin
[00:10:12] townsend recently um haven't talked about that no dropping young lad have you heard of that that
[00:10:17] oh you and i chatted about that on discord real quick oh yeah okay yeah i'd heard them like back
[00:10:24] in the day and i was like like here and there but for some reason i think it was before spyify existed
[00:10:30] so it was like a line wire thing and uh and i was like oh yeah i remember that we talked about it and
[00:10:35] i was like you know i'm gonna i'm gonna check them out properly and i have and now i'm absolutely
[00:10:39] obsessed with devin townsend like everything he does hey strapping young lad alien so that's my album of
[00:10:45] the week throwing that thrown out there nice listen get a two for one on the show as often as we can
[00:10:52] that's fantastic but uh i was gonna ask do you have a favorite horror movie jez um i do actually uh
[00:10:59] well the thing is when people ask me questions like that right i i try to always say the first
[00:11:05] thing that comes into my head right and when you said favorite movie i heard my brain immediately go
[00:11:11] to a movie called session nine have you heard of that oh yeah yeah with uh that's um is that neil
[00:11:18] blomkamp i can't i'm not sure the director is but um i'll just i'll just look it up real quick
[00:11:26] because i'm sitting here on my computer but yeah session nine is uh it's it's directed by brad
[00:11:30] anderson and maybe i know i know i know i kind of know you're thinking over i can't think of the
[00:11:37] title of it but um session nine came out in 2001 and it's it's one of the movies that um is credited
[00:11:44] with inspiring silent hill or something um or aspects of silent hill so it's it's set in a mental
[00:11:52] hospital and it's a psychological horror i really love psychological psychological horrors generally
[00:11:57] um so it's it's kind of in that vein uh very very visceral in your head paranoia all that kind of
[00:12:05] shit i love that kind of stuff with horror movies when it's it's a little bit more grounded a little
[00:12:09] bit more um uh i don't know character study kind of kind of stuff so yeah that'd be mine but i do i do
[00:12:17] like the the monster he kind of wants to i really like the thing thing is a favorite of mine i really
[00:12:23] like i really like the alien movies i haven't seen alien romulus yet um but i really want to i just
[00:12:30] look i like all horror movies like even the bad ones me and my girlfriend watch a lot of re my girlfriend's
[00:12:34] really into sharks right she loves sharks so we we've seen just mountains of terrible shark movies
[00:12:43] there there are so many it's like it's almost be its own genre or something man but yeah that's uh
[00:12:49] that's me what about you do you have what do you want beside the the rob zombie one that was reager
[00:12:56] uh i would say i would i would have to go back to like the old school because i was raised on
[00:13:03] you know friday the 13th and uh nightmare on elm street you know dream warriors and oh yeah jason takes
[00:13:10] manhattan and shit like that i mean they're terrible you know you go back to like the original
[00:13:15] friday the 13th and it's so unlike all of the other ones and you know you start with that you're like
[00:13:22] wow that's that's like really classic kind of horror in a way but a sort of a different situation
[00:13:27] than you imagine uh you know night of the living dead raised on stuff like that you know those are
[00:13:32] some of my kind of favorites they're on tv i'll i'll keep watching them but i typically will not
[00:13:38] seek them out um and i was looking this up uh the movie that i'm thinking of is district nine
[00:13:43] yes district nine yeah yeah district nine district nine is really good too more of a
[00:13:48] more sci-fi i suppose but yeah yeah he does he does some of that he's more on our cyberpunk vein
[00:13:56] of things like chappy and elysium and some of those ones i think there is um but there you go folks
[00:14:02] there's your uh there's your uh there's your recommendations a whole bunch of them in time
[00:14:07] for uh halloween but um moving on to our uh our rage segment of the week i need to i need to follow
[00:14:15] up on something and um yeah i can't believe uh blizzard got me blizzard got me i got you let's go
[00:14:29] rage now jess if you will recall not that long ago i had been raging on this show about diablo 4
[00:14:46] and how diablo 4 had the one and only true representation of varian wren's armor and
[00:14:56] charlemagne oh not not available not available to me as transmog in world of warcraft but they
[00:15:02] have it in warcraft or in diablo 4 i couldn't believe that they did this to me well lo and behold
[00:15:11] credit to credit where credits do credit to blizzard you know being the uh vips sitting at the
[00:15:19] crystal table that you and i are jess uh you you more so you're probably in the vip in the vip but
[00:15:24] uh those of us that are in the vip club that had access and blizzard gave me provided me free of
[00:15:32] charge a key for vessel of hatred oh very not only that but they it was like the full night well you
[00:15:41] know the big deluxe version that was like 70 80 bucks whatever it was so it came with a bunch of
[00:15:46] extra shit super nice of them very generous i was pleasantly surprised that that was something that
[00:15:55] was afforded to me and and and many thanks to them because otherwise yeah i probably wasn't gonna play
[00:16:00] it but i have dived in a little bit and it is kind of cool um but this isn't about that this is about
[00:16:07] how with that apparently or i already had it it came with some in-game currency for the shop
[00:16:18] and i had just enough to get the varian wren armor and chalamin and so you better damn well believe
[00:16:26] my barbarian is now running around with all of that on it's really berserker it's a raid segment
[00:16:33] sounds like you actually got what you wanted and you got it for free that's amazing well you know
[00:16:38] what i did and then blizzard being blizzard they knew they knew what i was doing they knew what my
[00:16:47] timetable was they knew that i had cashed in my chips and i'd gotten my transmog and then the very
[00:16:54] next day what did they do they introduced the lich king transmog set into diablo 4 when i was out of
[00:17:05] money i was out of platinum i had no more resources would i have put that on my barbarian no because it
[00:17:14] doesn't go on that one it can only go on a necromancer so would it have been wasted yes probably but
[00:17:20] how could they do this to me jez right after i had just spent all of my in-game currency on this
[00:17:26] one thing that i wanted and then they go and they release another look what they did every time
[00:17:33] the old switcheroo you know yeah i got a feeling this episode's going to be dominated by microtransaction
[00:17:41] talk given what's happened this week but what no of course
[00:17:48] yeah it is it is it has become a big pet peeve of mine as well actually the fact that not necessarily
[00:17:57] that you know because i kind of don't like the warcraft stuff in diablo i feel like it's law-breaking
[00:18:06] and i kind of i agree yeah i feel like diablo should be immersive as possible i suppose maybe
[00:18:13] i'm old-fashioned or whatever it's turning into heroes of the storm now yeah exactly but dude like
[00:18:19] the one thing that's been bugging me about diablo for a while now is just the fact that
[00:18:24] the the store-bought cosmetics are way cooler than anything you can earn in game like i've been
[00:18:29] playing um i played vessel of hatred in game a little bit and you know i looked up all the
[00:18:35] cosmetics you could earn from the new new raid kind of activity they've got in there and it's just
[00:18:40] like it all looks like trash it looks like leveling gear from wow or whatever it's just like this is not
[00:18:48] good but you know it's sort of like it's saying to me you know the permanent rewards you get
[00:18:54] the only permanent reward you get in diablo is skins and the best looking ones you just buy so it's kind
[00:19:01] of like what's the point of playing at all you know you know unless you really enjoy
[00:19:05] you know following max roll.gg's builds and then just whacking out numbers because the game the
[00:19:12] gameplay is fun but i feel like i've sort of hit the limit of everything the game has to offer
[00:19:17] you know in terms of rewards and progression so i don't know i might write something about it
[00:19:23] actually because i think it's something that i think i feel like in blizzard's pursuit of margins
[00:19:29] kind of forgotten why people actually play these kind of games and it's to progress you know and
[00:19:36] the warcraft's credit there's a lot of cool skins they're put in the game for the anniversary event
[00:19:41] which we'll talk about in a minute but um i feel like even blizzard might go down this route eventually
[00:19:48] where they're just like oh the best stuff is now going to come from the store
[00:19:52] and because at the end of the day people are paying for it they're worth more than people who aren't
[00:19:56] paying for it but i don't know diablo's gone way too hard in that direction and i'm just scared it's just
[00:20:03] gonna be the way things are now i guess
[00:20:08] well i i would but i blame myself because clearly they're watching what i'm doing and and releasing
[00:20:14] all of these skins based on when it's most inconvenient for me so just watch what i do
[00:20:20] and then do the opposite that's really what i'm saying here is you know so you can never tell with
[00:20:26] these you can never yeah you can never tell with these free lunches from blizzard there's just there's
[00:20:30] always a catch so i do like to your uh to your to your point uh we do have a bunch of news to talk
[00:20:38] about and some other things so uh why don't we go ahead kick it off and jump into our news
[00:20:45] so this past week i believe it was october the 22nd uh the newest patch world of warcraft 11.0.5
[00:21:04] uh was released into the wild and we're going to kind of break this up a little bit uh into some
[00:21:10] more manageable bite-sized chunks because there is a lot of there is a lot of upset
[00:21:16] uh out there about uh this patch and a bunch of things that have happened so let's let's just start
[00:21:24] at the top with the 20th anniversary event itself which was billed as kind of the capstone for this
[00:21:31] patch and all of the you know stuff that you can do and earn and all those kinds of things um
[00:21:39] in in the more recent past anniversaries will pop up go down in the caverns of time maybe
[00:21:46] there was some stuff to do they had a band out there playing which i haven't seen this year which
[00:21:50] is kind of weird maybe it's because samwise didier is no longer there and oh no no no it's in um it's
[00:21:55] in blackrock depths where is it oh it's in blackrock depths okay all right thank god all right i'll have
[00:22:00] to not just skip to the end on that one um they you know you go down there you can watch some
[00:22:06] cinematics hitting some crystals and you know there wasn't a whole lot there a couple quests here and there
[00:22:12] and so for the 20th they've really tried to ramp it up they want to have like a whole to do
[00:22:18] with this anniversary that will make it last just some length of time because at least the information
[00:22:25] that we've been given is that the 20th anniversary event is going to run until january the 6th
[00:22:30] so we've got time there's this is going to be out for a little bit folks um if you were looking
[00:22:34] forward to 11.0.7 or 11.1 it's going to be a minute so just pace yourselves out there um which
[00:22:43] you may not have a choice man to do that anyway uh but they added a whole bunch of things a bunch
[00:22:48] of activities so just kind of running through them number one right off the top a lot of experience
[00:22:53] a lot of xp buffs which i think has been kind of typical in these events but uh one of the rundowns
[00:23:01] that i saw is that if you combine certain things together being uh the anniversary itself that's
[00:23:10] 10 percent blessings from the bronze dragon flight that's another 10 percent uh up to 25 percent if
[00:23:17] depending on how many war band uh members you have uh max level there's also a 10 percent from a war
[00:23:24] bonus 10 from a hallow's end 10 from a dark moon fair buff and then uh characters under level 50 can
[00:23:32] get plus 10 from the draft to 10 lands that's up to i believe that 85 percent xp buff so if you are
[00:23:41] so inclined to put all that together that you know you're just going to be ripping through levels
[00:23:48] even faster so nice little nice little side thing uh they got going on uh but looking at uh the
[00:23:55] anniversary itself uh you mentioned black rock depths new raid that has gone into uh place here
[00:24:01] you have both are all three elifar normal and heroic i've done it on elifar pretty fucking
[00:24:09] challenging on elifar i only did the last part because there was a quest to kill uh thor's on at the
[00:24:15] end and that's basically what i did so i haven't seen the rest of it yet which is why i haven't seen
[00:24:19] my beloved band but thank you jess for the hot tip uh but this was a dungeon way back in the day
[00:24:25] and now it's been revamped for uh this 20th anniversary you've got uh a 10 to 15 player raid
[00:24:31] that it is there are eight bosses and five mini bosses there's different gear depending on what you get
[00:24:37] and from what i understand it was hard enough with i think they had to nerf it already uh so
[00:24:44] definitely some challenges in there uh there are some time warped relic coffer keys that you can get
[00:24:52] out of this depending on the difficulty uh that you complete the the the raid and that's uh good
[00:24:59] for gear that you can uh trade in at a vendor there's also the chromies codex revisiting the gates of
[00:25:06] on courage which i think everybody's in agreement is not at all what we thought it was going to be
[00:25:12] and seems to be something that people will not be running a lot um where it was billed as revisiting
[00:25:21] the opening i think we all thought it was going to be revisiting the opening of the gates of on
[00:25:25] courage when really you're just flying around uh following chromie and killing some dudes and
[00:25:32] there's like a boss fight at the end or something i did it one time and it was very underwhelming i'm
[00:25:39] not gonna lie i was not all that thrilled with this but it's a scenario you queue up for it it's up to
[00:25:44] 20 uh players and uh i don't know there's a lot that i got out of that but back at the caverns of time
[00:25:52] itself the the home base of operations well there's a whole spread now there's a whole fairground that's
[00:25:58] out in front of the opening of the caverns of time it kind of reminds me of like how brewfest is set up
[00:26:04] there's lots of tents and vendors and all kinds of stuff and it's all in that little area right in
[00:26:08] front of the caverns of time you have uh one of my favorites the mount mania which somebody on a stage
[00:26:15] it runs at a certain time and they'll jump on a mount and then you try to copy that mount and
[00:26:20] most of the time they're gonna have mounts that you don't have because they're pulling out some
[00:26:24] real rare shit on some of these runs and i think of the however many they pull up it's like
[00:26:31] 20 mounts there's 15 mounts or something like that uh during each round of it that they do i think
[00:26:37] the most i've ever had in one round was like five because there's just some real obscure shit going
[00:26:43] on uh i think the one that people keep pointing out is the the the zuleon tiger that nobody's seen you
[00:26:49] know you can't get that for the last decade uh so that's one uh that's out there of course there's
[00:26:55] all kinds of achievements and different things tied to this a story uh storyteller you can listen to
[00:26:59] lore walker cho uh tell three different stories and if you sit and you're around near the stage area
[00:27:06] you can participate a little bit by throwing rotten tomatoes at certain points or cheering or yelling
[00:27:12] or for the horde for the alliance or whatever it is and you know it's quick it's fun it's easy it's
[00:27:18] kind of you know kind of fun to relive certain little stories uh fashion frenzy it's like trial of
[00:27:23] style go in there and you got a category and you got to run up to your transmog folks there and
[00:27:31] change into something and then you vote for each other live you got little badges and you run around
[00:27:35] you throw them on people and people throw them on you and yes i did win uh the one time i did it
[00:27:40] because you know your boys rocking the transmog hard uh every day everywhere we go uh there's a pet
[00:27:47] corner i definitely did not take up any pet battles because i suck at that uh there's a bunch of other
[00:27:53] little vendors around that you can find and they have different uh little fun things you can do like
[00:27:58] there's some portals you can take and then you go to like nagrand and you can wield frostborn and
[00:28:04] take a picture in front of this place you know just little inconsequential shit uh that you can do
[00:28:10] there's also a secrets thing that's happening this is kind of like the secrets that we had back in a
[00:28:16] patch we had to go and find and do a bunch of stuff there's this guest relations secret quest now
[00:28:23] and nobody knows what the what the rewards are but apparently you help this person uh alex who's there
[00:28:29] under the big tent right in the middle of the whole caverns of time setup and they'll give you
[00:28:34] things to do and you gotta follow along and help find lost treasure and some shit nobody knows what
[00:28:41] it's for but there's gonna be new clues released every so often i think the next uh set of secrets
[00:28:47] comes out like november 4th i think something like that uh if you're like me and you avoid pvp at all
[00:28:57] cost well lucky us korak's revenge has returned so the one pvp thing i do every year is i do run my
[00:29:05] one alterac valley just for nostalgia's sake and this uh this allows me to do that there is a quest
[00:29:11] tied to this as well and uh you know listen i i love alterac valley i always will i suck at it most
[00:29:19] of the time but it's a lot of fun to go back and and see a lot of that uh they're all world bosses
[00:29:24] the dragons of nightmare back doomwalker azer ghost lord kazakh shaw vanger uh archivon the stone watcher
[00:29:31] you got a few of them right around there in tanaris a few others you actually have to go out to their
[00:29:36] place where they are like dragons of nightmare i gotta go find them back in their homes by the portals
[00:29:43] oftentimes uh they they some of them have rare mounts which jez i don't know that i ever played
[00:29:52] this game more than wrath of the lich king and i must have ran archivon a million fucking times i don't
[00:30:01] know how many kills i had on the guy i never got the reins of the grand black war mammoth oh he drops
[00:30:08] that and i finally got him oh you got it finally got congrats i finally got it yeah i i it popped up in
[00:30:15] the loot and i was like no way and i hit it and there's the achievement holy shit yep so i can i can
[00:30:20] confirm these things are dropping uh shaw of anger drops the uh heavenly onyx cloud serpent and uh
[00:30:29] doomwalker drops the illidari doom hawk so if you're looking for those things uh there they are
[00:30:35] uh but of course what are you doing why are you running all this stuff what's going on like what
[00:30:39] you're just doing it for fun yeah i mean some of it is just for fun but you're also trying to earn
[00:30:44] another new currency the bronze celebration token which is used to purchase a variety of anniversary
[00:30:54] related items uh some of them being the in-game versions of anniversary awards that blizzard
[00:31:03] employees get uh like the shield and the helm and the sword if you've ever seen when blizzard employees
[00:31:10] get like their 5 10 15 20 year uh service awards they get like a physical version of these things well
[00:31:17] this is now the in-game uh representation of some of that uh there's also some pets and mounts uh new
[00:31:24] and old uh returning and of course the big one the tier 2 armor sets now up scaled for the modern day
[00:31:37] and you basically have to purchase the first one at full price and then you get a reduction in price
[00:31:43] on further sets um don't know that i will buy anything beyond well you know what i will buy the
[00:31:51] the the warrior and the death knight one because the death knight one's pretty fucking rad um but in a
[00:31:56] nutshell this is what the anniversary event is uh there are weekly quests that award some of this new
[00:32:06] currency there are other dailies that will come um i think some of it is intended to be more long term
[00:32:15] you continue to do it but i'll be honest with you jez i ran through it a couple days and then i was like
[00:32:22] i think i'm good uh i don't i don't know how often i'm actually gonna come back for this uh but have you
[00:32:30] had a chance yourself to jump in and uh kick the tires on some of this 20th anniversary uh activity
[00:32:38] yeah so i um before the show i um i was doing uh the black rock depths raid we cleared normal mode
[00:32:46] um without dying once i think which is you know i would expect that given our item level at this
[00:32:54] point but it was it was fun you know no the loot was boring though and you know all the old school
[00:33:02] you know textures it's sort of like i don't know just felt kind of low effort kind of um i feel like
[00:33:11] by now you know we'd be starting to look at getting second season through maybe um or at least have an
[00:33:21] announcement of it but i know they got the warcraft direct coming up but but yeah i'm not a huge fan of
[00:33:25] this event i guess i mean i like the i like the fact that we get in the tier the tier sets redone
[00:33:31] because you know a lot of those tier sets look fantastic like if you're a paladin for example
[00:33:35] you've been waiting oh basically 20 years to get the the the high hd judgment set one of the best sets
[00:33:42] they've ever designed and it held up to this day just kind of looked you know old because of the
[00:33:48] textures um i wasn't i never really liked the nemesis set for warlocks but the new set the the
[00:33:54] upscale one looks a lot better so it's like oh well i'm gonna go for that but i feel kind of like
[00:33:59] you it's like the all the events are kind of eh i'm probably gonna get the warlock set and maybe the
[00:34:04] death knight set and then bounce i think because the preset looks ass it looked ass back then it looks
[00:34:10] ass now um and uh i don't really play any other classes just priest warlock and death knight generally
[00:34:17] so yeah i don't know i don't think um i don't think this will go down in history as one of the
[00:34:23] remember remembered as one of the best events they've ever done ever but it's it's not terrible
[00:34:27] i suppose it's the best the best uh the best i can best compliment i can give it it's not terrible
[00:34:34] there you go yeah and that's i no i think that's actually the best assessment i've heard so far is
[00:34:41] that it's not that it's bad it's just i don't know that if it meets the long-term goal that it's trying
[00:34:49] to set or maybe that's just our own expectations or whatever it is but you know even for the the
[00:34:56] warrior tier two set i i don't even particularly like that one i think it's goofy as shit but i'm
[00:35:01] gonna get it because i'm a warrior and that's what warriors do now the death knight one that legitimately
[00:35:05] looks cool because they didn't have death knights back then so they had to come up with something new
[00:35:10] and uh for for all the classes that didn't exist back then and i think they did a pretty good job on
[00:35:16] those um and for viewers at home listeners at home people at home if you're wondering or need a
[00:35:24] jot something down here about how many of these bronze celebration tokens you need to do the things
[00:35:31] uh credit to wowhead they have a pretty handy breakdown of uh all of what you need and if you
[00:35:38] don't have anything if you're coming into this without any of the pets or mounts or past anniversary
[00:35:44] items nothing you're gonna need a total of 485 bronze celebration tokens to purchase everything
[00:35:52] from the event that's everything top to bottom total and with you know weekly quest giving away
[00:35:58] uh three bronze tokens at a time yeah good luck you're gonna you're gonna be grinding that well
[00:36:03] there's an achievement once you get 100 bronze celebration tokens and then i think some dailies
[00:36:07] open up so it will it will get faster it always does but uh that is a daunting number uh right now
[00:36:13] considering i've done a whole bunch of what i've done and i think i don't even i don't even think
[00:36:17] i have 20. yes we're looking a little ways down the road um if you do have all of the pets and mounts
[00:36:25] from past anniversary events you'll only need 395 bronze celebration tokens uh from there uh to break all
[00:36:34] of that down uh the first tier two set you buy costs 60 of these tokens the second one is 40 and then
[00:36:42] everyone after that is 20 so you continue to get those discounts so that's 320 total tokens for all of the
[00:36:50] sets uh there's also uh some other pets and transmog awards and uh toys uh that'll be a 75 total uh for
[00:37:01] those and then all of the pets and mounts uh 90 total so it's it's a lot and you're gonna have to
[00:37:13] remain dedicated for the entire patch but man unless it's tied solely to something we haven't seen yet i
[00:37:19] feel like people are gonna burn out on this pretty quickly because like you said it's it's it's not
[00:37:25] terrible but it's also not like man i gotta get in every day and do this anniversary thing i'm so
[00:37:30] fucking pumped i gotta get this done and i haven't heard one person say that it's like ah no i went
[00:37:36] i went down there and watched some cinematics and you know i rode around on a balloon
[00:37:41] i killed some world bosses it's it's it's it's clear to me that they tried to make this something that
[00:37:48] was you know 20th anniversary it's a big fucking deal and i don't know it feels like it's a little
[00:37:57] stilted still at this point it's still kind of it's hard to justify like making content for an event which is basically
[00:38:06] you know it's gonna go away you know so if if i'm blizzard and i'm thinking like what what am i budgeting for right now
[00:38:12] i'll put a small team on this event because ultimately the 20th anniversary is going to come and go and everyone will forget it
[00:38:18] it ever happened and really put my resources towards season two which i'm hoping will be of a far higher quality bar
[00:38:25] and uh i think these kind of these kind of events have never been particularly exciting i mean like even
[00:38:31] no like when we even stuff like um when people talk about end of expansion events or pre-expansion events
[00:38:40] and stuff people always talk about the the wrath event as the as the the one that people everyone remembers
[00:38:45] and that was like what 18 17 16 years ago something like that it's a long ass time right so the
[00:38:53] investment is clearly on going towards seasons and you know the the campaign story quests and stuff
[00:38:59] like that and i think that's a great point that's a great point about it being temporary that's something
[00:39:05] i think we all kind of forget about including myself that's that's a great yeah it is what it is
[00:39:13] it is and uh to continue down that path 11.0.5 wasn't just that there was other stuff um and it has not
[00:39:29] been particularly well received for a number of reasons and jez i know that you're pretty
[00:39:35] well acquainted with this uh at this point so uh would you mind sort of enlightening our audience
[00:39:42] as to some of the broader challenges that this patch has add up to this point broader challenges
[00:39:49] in what context well it's just there's been a lot of game breaking bugs there's been uh balance issues
[00:40:00] there's been stuff that was in previous uh i think ptr patches that didn't make it to the live that
[00:40:06] were supposed to and then they had to hot fix and uh you know we've talked before about uh with hero
[00:40:12] talents being kind of underbaked and it sounds like with this 11.0.5 it sounds like there's more of this
[00:40:19] where the qa is not living up to what it needs to be and folks seem to be really upset about the
[00:40:27] unpolished state of what they're getting and i don't know have you have you been experiencing any
[00:40:34] of that or have you seen that out uh in your neck of the woods i'll be honest like i haven't i've been
[00:40:38] so busy at work that i haven't had a huge amount of time to dive in and the the discourse has been so
[00:40:45] dominated by a dinosaur shaped um uh elephant in the room there's no brutosaurus in the room i suppose
[00:40:53] you could call it um so i honestly i missed some of this this discourse about it being buggy and stuff
[00:41:00] so you're gonna have to get me up to speed i think on this one yeah apparently because i think this also
[00:41:07] shows a breakdown of where your player base is spending its time because a lot of these uh bugs
[00:41:12] apparently were related to the raid and since i don't raid anymore i didn't see a lot of this uh there
[00:41:21] were issues with uh little things like class icons for certain abilities got swapped out for the wrong
[00:41:28] class entirely and um i think people at one point were able to level without dying and it's just like
[00:41:37] some real wacky shit that happened right and you know they've been they've been hot fixing it and
[00:41:43] patching it and doing all of these things and of course i saw you know the first thing i saw was
[00:41:47] some belular video that was like you know i need to do better or whatever it was it was like the logo
[00:41:53] of the war within like broken in half and i'm like oh jesus christ here we go again so there's there's
[00:42:01] been a wider controversy it seems about the quality of what is coming out initially and
[00:42:12] it seems to me that there is a an expectation and maybe i'm wrong on this listen i have paid for a
[00:42:23] subscription now since what february of 2007 that's how long i've been around so
[00:42:32] i don't expect things to be perfect all the time on a live service game i don't expect patches to even
[00:42:39] necessarily be 100 when they come out and certainly if i was hard charging on a raid trying to finish a
[00:42:48] raid and there was some game breaking bug and you know bosses i think one of the things was like some
[00:42:53] bosses were going afk you know i'm sure i would be a little more upset than i am now but it happens
[00:43:04] and then they fix it and then there's hot patches there's whatever there is i think about the employees
[00:43:10] themselves i doubt they want to push out anything that's underbaked and as you have highlighted many
[00:43:16] times jez and this kind of dovetails into what you were talking about there is a pressure from a
[00:43:26] business standpoint to make certain decisions and those are always gonna butt up against the designers
[00:43:36] programmers you know the producers the developers that make this game who want things to be perfect
[00:43:42] and polish the blizzard way that we all knew way back when and people are like well the quarter is here
[00:43:49] and the quarter breaks here and we need to this we need to hit these numbers here or this revenue or
[00:43:54] this whatever and so we're pushing and we're doing these things and we used to blame activision all the
[00:44:01] time well activision is no longer there it's microsoft and you know we all saw microsoft coming in as our
[00:44:06] savior and jez you have much more knowledge and experience with them than i think those of us now
[00:44:11] that have kind of come from the outside but i think we always kind of expect that there's going to be
[00:44:17] now some push when it comes financially versus when it's actually ready so i'm willing to give the grace
[00:44:24] to say hey they're doing the best they can probably with the time frames that they've been given and
[00:44:30] they're going to continue to fix it and be responsive to player feedback because they have been
[00:44:35] it's one thing i think they've been really good about um but to that end over the last like two weeks i don't
[00:44:44] know what it is and and maybe again it's this is all about quarter driven profit but there have been
[00:44:51] there's been an inundation of pets and mounts and sales and all kinds of stuff that has popped up
[00:45:01] on the blizzard store now one of them is tied to a charity tied to a player that is the focus of a
[00:45:10] documentary on netflix that's really just a heartbreaking story um uh the remarkable life of i think it's
[00:45:19] ibelin yeah not quite sure how to say the name um there's a there's a documentary netflix about this
[00:45:25] one about this individual and there's a a cute little fox pet that's got like a like a hat like
[00:45:32] a like a sherlock holmes type hat on him um but outside of that it's you know here's a here's a mount
[00:45:40] pack here's a this one is the ice murloc funko pop that comes with an in-game murloc ice murloc or
[00:45:48] whatever it is uh but uh there's also 30 off of game services which i don't know i may or may not
[00:45:55] take up there's hallows end in-game store discounts and then we don't talk about bruto
[00:46:03] no no yes we're gonna we're gonna talk about bruto um and then in the midst of all of this
[00:46:10] they drop a 90 dollar mount reins of the traders gilded brutosaur which has an auction house and a
[00:46:23] mailbox on it i think it's 90 here in the u.s it's 60 over in the uk yeah over in the uk and it's like
[00:46:33] 120 in australia um i was surprised it was 60 in the uk because you usually they they don't bother
[00:46:42] to do conversions but they're like hey actually maybe we should do a conversion on this so i i i did
[00:46:49] notice that i thought that was kind of funny but um here's the thing i think like a lot of us
[00:46:58] you know if you if this is something that you choose to buy this is not on the player if you
[00:47:03] choose to buy this if you if you have 90 bucks that you want to spend on a mount that i don't
[00:47:08] know how on god's green earth you actually need this and these services so badly like the auction
[00:47:15] house and the mail service it's not that hard to get to either one of these things but if if you want
[00:47:20] to sit on a mountaintop somewhere and be able to do all your auction house overlording then okay cool
[00:47:25] like this this is something you need it looks cool like don't get me wrong it looks badass like i think
[00:47:29] it looks amazing and if you as a player want to have that this is nothing on the player um
[00:47:36] but jez can you articulate why this why this might feel bad this mount so there's there's multiple
[00:47:46] there's multiple facets to this right first of all like you met you touched upon how
[00:47:53] microsoft was supposed to save us from activision you know and and stop doing stuff like this
[00:47:58] the end of the day microsoft and activision are publicly traded companies so i think it was
[00:48:02] probably too much to hope for that they would stop doing stuff like this because and also
[00:48:08] blizzard bonuses their company bonuses are tied to meeting targets so like if they're if they're
[00:48:15] coming up to christmas and they're you know they're not hitting their targets or whatever set to
[00:48:19] them set for them by you know previously activision microsoft dropping a 90 dollar mount is a great
[00:48:26] way to hit your targets so you can get your christmas bonus right um yeah so there's that aspect to
[00:48:33] consider as well um and i for one think blizzard deserve their bonuses so if this is if this is how
[00:48:41] they can quickly push that over the line then whatever but at the same time it's kind of getting
[00:48:47] irritating as a player um and when it's cosmetic it's one thing but this is not just cosmetic it's
[00:48:54] it's a utility it's got a mailbox on it it's got an auction house on it and before when you the
[00:48:59] auction house mount in the game it was kind of you could get it with a well token i think the well
[00:49:05] token was available back in battle for azeroth if i remember correctly so it was it's not like
[00:49:10] this is the first time they've done it where you could basically buy a utility mount because you
[00:49:16] you can buy gold you can convert the gold into um and you can convert the token into battle net currency
[00:49:24] and you know and that kind of thing right so it's not like it's new but it's the first time they've put
[00:49:30] a 90 dollar cosmetic utility mount in the store directly like that so i think there's a sticker shock
[00:49:37] aspect to this um sure and i suppose like the the other thing is like is this going to be a slippery
[00:49:45] slope are we going to get into a diablo situation where eventually the best transmog sets come from
[00:49:50] there are we going to get into a situation where you know more that there's few amounts to actually
[00:49:55] earn and more to buy you know because before it was kind of like oh this is just a light it was a
[00:50:00] light touch kind of thing and that people kind of accepted it as a way to you know that could be
[00:50:05] be inflation and you know you know hit those bonuses or hit those revenue targets and keep
[00:50:11] kotik and whoever else happy right but now we're sort of like we're in a different universe
[00:50:18] of um microsoft's invested 72 billion into this company and they're going to invest more technically
[00:50:27] because they've got to do integrations that they're spending a lot of development time trying
[00:50:31] to bridge battle net and game pass um which is great for the consumer you know hey i can get diablo
[00:50:38] a part game pass great i'm playing black ops 6 right now having had to pay 70 dollars i can just
[00:50:43] get it in game pass so you know there's there's stuff there that is great for the consumer but
[00:50:48] then it's also like well some of that money has to be made up elsewhere right this is why call of
[00:50:52] duty is a wash with skins diablo's a wash with skins and all these other games are kind of a
[00:50:57] wash with skins and it kind of reminds you because gaming historically has been this sort of like
[00:51:04] sorry i'm so sniffly right now um gaming historically has been this kind of like it's been an escape from
[00:51:10] all that bullshit the bullshit of the real world where like i'm poorer than my boss or i don't have
[00:51:15] as much money whatever but like when you log into the world of warcraft you see a dude with a 90 dollar
[00:51:21] mount that's kind of like a reminder that there are people out there with more disposable income than you
[00:51:25] you know which is like gaming was supposed to be an escape from this and all the triple i games are
[00:51:30] pissing around and experimenting with this kind of thing right now and the league of legends had a
[00:51:35] huge amount of controversy last summer because they had they had like a 300 skin or something like that
[00:51:40] i can't remember exactly how much it was it yeah it was a ridiculous amount of money um and but you
[00:51:46] know people bought it people bought it a lot you know and you got call of duty with bullet not call of
[00:51:52] duty black um outstrike they have like skins that are worth hundreds maybe thousands of dollars
[00:51:59] and and but they kind of get away with it because players set the value there so it's like well if
[00:52:04] the players are valuing it this high then it's not really valve's fault right but when blizzard do it
[00:52:11] they're kind of like it's it's kind of it's clear that a lot of the money the art they're spending on
[00:52:18] a lot of the money they're spending on art right now he's going towards these skins which are really
[00:52:25] for people with more money than other players you know a lot of people out there would be like well
[00:52:32] i can only afford to buy the expansion 70 expansion or the 50 expansion whatever it is
[00:52:38] the vessel of hatred and i can't afford to buy all these cool ass skins because some a lot of those skins
[00:52:44] are 20 or 25 i can't remember exactly how much yeah that's like 28 bucks yeah they ain't cheap
[00:52:50] but i also appreciate the fact that developing a game in california is astronomically expensive and i
[00:52:56] often see people like talk about you know black myth wukong for example black myth wukong was one of
[00:53:01] the biggest games of the summer um it's a really big game it's a gorgeous game photorealistic with you
[00:53:06] know triple a animations visuals and polished gameplay and it costs 84 million dollars to make
[00:53:14] you're building that that kind of game in california you're looking at at least 300 million dollars i
[00:53:19] would think um at the very very least you know so there is the the geographical aspect and how you know
[00:53:29] how wage inflation has impacted silicon valley because you know it's i know blizzard's not exactly in silicon
[00:53:36] valley but it's all those companies that base themselves in california for the tax breaks or
[00:53:40] whatever there's there's there's a huge amount of competition for software engineering down there
[00:53:45] so that pushes wages up and you know oh yeah you know there's the expertise is in that area which
[00:53:51] pushes the wage wages up overall right which means like everything gets more expensive to make which
[00:53:57] means that we have to fund it by buying skins but there's also another aspect to this and it's kind
[00:54:05] of freaking me out actually as a xbox journalist it's that for the next fiscal year they have tied satya
[00:54:14] nadella's pay packet he's paid his incentives to the microsoft gaming's revenue growth and who is that satya
[00:54:23] nadella is the ceo of microsoft and it's obviously um uh gaming xbox and microsoft it's called microsoft
[00:54:34] gaming now the entity that the entity that owns activision xbox and bethesda is called microsoft
[00:54:41] gaming and before shareholders didn't give a about what they were doing with the gaming they saw it as
[00:54:47] a they saw it as a side project i saw it as like this little weird little thing that microsoft did on
[00:54:52] the side um almost as a way to you know interest software engineers and hardware engineers and all
[00:54:59] that kind of stuff i don't know but shareholders didn't give a crap when xbox cost no money but
[00:55:03] xbox just spent 71 billion dollars on activision you know and they've invested a ton of money in this
[00:55:09] so you've got a lot of shareholders now and who are like more engaged in how this investment is going
[00:55:16] you know is this going to be ultimately a waste of money is that not 71 billion dollars that could
[00:55:21] have been spent on artificial intelligence but that have bought them open ai for example and
[00:55:26] obviously ai is dumb right now but uh a lot of tech investment right now is being flooded towards ai
[00:55:35] because i think that the assumption is that ai is the next big thing you know it's going to be driving
[00:55:39] yeah you know business business solutions for a lot of companies it's also going to be you know used in
[00:55:45] entertainment disney's about to announce an ai development initiative which is i think is ill-advised
[00:55:52] but hey you know it's where all the hype is right now so investors are going to be like is the bet
[00:55:56] on activision actually a smart bet to have made but could this money not have been spent better elsewhere
[00:56:01] on cloud technology on artificial intelligence and whatever right so there's a lot more scrutiny
[00:56:07] now and to that end the board of directors has tied microsoft gaming's revenue growth to satya nadella
[00:56:14] the ceo and other executives they've tied they've tied their annual compensation to if microsoft gaming grows
[00:56:22] but microsoft gaming doesn't grow then satya and phil and all the the c-suite people are going to get paid less
[00:56:30] and um so they also have an incentive to make that investment work there and i think the 90
[00:56:36] dollar amount is a direct symptom of that aspect i think eventually when they've paid they've paid off
[00:56:44] what they're in what they invested in it i think things will maybe settle down a little bit
[00:56:49] i'm being naive here probably um but because hey if people accept nine dollar amounts now they always
[00:56:56] will right yeah but i do i do think there is the the the reason this is coming in so hot and so quickly
[00:57:03] is because of these kind of aspects right so they've got it they've got to prove that gaming is
[00:57:08] smart bet for the future for microsoft and its investors and that's ultimately like that's their job
[00:57:14] that's satya's job that's phil spencer's job it's it's to keep the shareholders happy but i still
[00:57:20] think the backlash is useful here because if they if we just sat if we just sat around and didn't
[00:57:27] push back on this stuff they'd just run riot all over it right they go they go crazy and
[00:57:33] if it has to be a balance it has to be sort of like you know we if we complain about it and make them
[00:57:40] you know they might think twice about doing it more because it could cost them money if if they start
[00:57:45] being super greedy people might walk away you know but again i'm being naive here because fifa ultimate
[00:57:52] team has been doing it for decades and no one cares and other games have been nickel and diming their
[00:57:58] players for years and years and years and no one cares but i think people people won't accept a 90
[00:58:03] dollar store mount if the game self suffers so could they have gotten away with the 90 dollar store
[00:58:09] mount during shadowlands probably not i think that they are riding a wave of positivity right now where
[00:58:15] people are like well war within's been pretty good so far and so we'll we'll let them have this one but
[00:58:21] um i think that's i think the backlash is useful and we shouldn't just accept it we should keep them
[00:58:30] on their toes and be like well you know if you are going to do this kind of shit when i want to see
[00:58:35] how you're investing in the game and how you're investing in us as players because you know if
[00:58:41] you're not investing in us as players then i ain't gonna stick around to buy you 90 dollar
[00:58:44] fucking dinosaur brute source man you know so it is a dollar order in short it's a load of
[00:58:51] business bullshit basically i think yeah well for those of you out there that have some disposable
[00:58:58] income that you'd like to pay there is a 90 dollar mount out there like you said um and like we
[00:59:04] mentioned as well there is the uh mount that is tied uh to at least something you might feel good
[00:59:11] about by plunking down 20 bucks for the uh the fox the reaven i think it's the reaven or the reaven
[00:59:18] uh fox uh pets uh supporting uh duchenne muscular dystrophy uh uh your duchenne uh freaking hell what's
[00:59:29] it called um oh it's a non-profit and it's tied to the uh it's tied to the uh the profits are going
[00:59:48] to be able to do it and you know maybe plunking down 20 bucks for that or you know listen you got
[00:59:52] 90 bucks you're like i gotta have this giant dinosaur i'm gonna do it on uh it's kind of a
[01:00:00] similar parallel vein you know you're talking about how we talk about exclusivity right that's part of
[01:00:06] the big you know my my long-running feud with diablo 4 and and warcraft that's in there and
[01:00:13] you know we're talking about uh stuff that's only on the store and technically you can earn it
[01:00:17] but you can't and then last time we were here we kind of talked about some other tabards and other
[01:00:22] things that you had to like sign up for a grocery store mailing a mailer account like just kind of
[01:00:28] some of that stuff well now we have one that you can't earn this in game as far as we know is there
[01:00:35] is about to launch here in the next couple of weeks a huge mountain dew dorito rockstar super
[01:00:47] extravaganza promotion and be between diablo warcraft and a bunch of other non-blizzard games
[01:00:55] there's gonna be all kinds of stuff that's gonna be you know not given away but it's gonna be part
[01:01:00] of these promotions as rewards um and while there are many for diablo 4 and for world of warcraft the
[01:01:09] one i think that's driving me the most crazy is some time ago the data miners had found something
[01:01:17] called the hate forged blaze cycle and it's another motorcycle type mount and this thing's
[01:01:23] fucking crazy it's got like a big steel horn sticking out the front and it's a it's a pretty
[01:01:28] badass crazy looking mount well the only way any of us are going to be able to get it
[01:01:35] is if we buy a shit ton of mountain dew game fuel you have to grind mountain dew or could you get
[01:01:43] lucky just get it we're gonna have to grind mountain dew because i guess the way that it works for is for
[01:01:50] world of warcraft uh well i mean i guess there's a bunch of different stuff right and and world of
[01:01:55] warcraft is going to be featured on the mountain dew game fuel stuff but there's mountain dew rockstar
[01:02:00] uh doritos and then various varieties within and then there's going to be codes on the packaging
[01:02:08] and you have to turn that in and bank these points at doritosdorockstar.com
[01:02:15] so if you get enough points all over man you'll it sounds familiar it looks familiar uh you'll be able
[01:02:24] to turn or redeem these points for rewards and for world of warcraft there's something called a thrill
[01:02:30] bot 9 000 a chill bot 9 000 a bot wrangler's violet apron a bot wrangler's wrangler's crimson apron
[01:02:39] the hate forged blaze cycle and lil ragnaros which you can't actually get that by other means um
[01:02:46] but this this i mean
[01:02:50] it feels bad because i'm not gonna drink any of that stuff i'm an energy drink fiend don't get me wrong
[01:02:56] people that know me especially uh rommel listen to this he knows i'm an energy drink fiend
[01:03:00] i have been forever ghost is my brand uh of choice these days mostly because it's like five calories and
[01:03:07] no sugar like i'm trying to at least feel like i'm doing something half healthy when i drink these
[01:03:12] fucking things but unless i'm gonna drink a shit ton of mountain dew zero there's no way i'll ever
[01:03:22] be able to earn this not mention the fact i'm pretty sure this is this is just a us thing yeah it's it's
[01:03:27] incredibly frustrating it's united states only so like i've really won the bar the rest of y'all
[01:03:33] they're doing we're crying about it probably it's crazy some of this will show up in the trading post
[01:03:38] probably eventually but um you think so yeah i think so but microsoft is like they have some kind of
[01:03:45] they've got like high level friendships between microsoft and doritos and mountain jew because
[01:03:50] they always do with mountain jew like i think there's a get there's also a game pass thing with
[01:03:54] mountain jew and doritos right now but you can just like you can get like codes for game pass or
[01:04:00] win an xbox or get random games like your metaphor you know games that might have the game fuel in
[01:04:07] world of warcraft like i want to say this was like 10 15 years ago we had the bot and you could fill
[01:04:14] it up with like the red or the blue game fuel and then they would fight each other i still have all
[01:04:18] that original shit from way back then so it's not like we haven't had it but that seemed to be a
[01:04:24] much wider release and it was way easier to get however it was i don't even remember now but i do
[01:04:28] love doritos among you i really do but god damn i don't have it here so i can't participate so i'm
[01:04:36] upset i'll drink code red like a motherfucker i found one of those 12 packs like it's nothing i
[01:04:43] used to do that in college when that first came out that was my drink of choice and i could drink
[01:04:47] a 12 pack in a night yeah how healthy was that it wasn't so you know i really love it within me but
[01:04:53] like sugar free manager is like so nice but when i drink it i feel like i'm probably getting a tumor
[01:05:01] you know i mean listen there's gonna be in in the decades to come in future history there's gonna
[01:05:09] be all this research about us nudniks that we're drinking all this crap for all these years and like
[01:05:14] somehow shorten our lifespans by x amount because you know we should have done this instead of this
[01:05:18] but you know and then they're gonna pull up well you know at one point they had to drink a whole bunch
[01:05:23] of diet zero do because they had to get the hate force blaze cycle in world of warcraft
[01:05:29] that's gonna show up in a research paper someday so again more things out in the real world connecting
[01:05:35] to our sort of online activity here um that is becoming more inescapable uh but also more challenging
[01:05:43] for people that just play the game um you know it it's a different world and i think part of it is
[01:05:50] accepting that this is a landscape now you know long long gone are the days when you know you bought
[01:05:56] mega man 2 and everything you needed about mega man 2 was in that cartridge that you put in your
[01:06:00] nintendo dude the thing is these kind of games still do exist you know like boulder's gate 3 for
[01:06:06] example i was thinking about this the other day how how tired i am of of of you know just not having
[01:06:12] just the game just not being just the game it's also like all the other bullshit that comes with
[01:06:17] it battle passes and all that kind of crap right and i've tried to adapt and get into that universe
[01:06:23] i've i've i've done diablo battle passes and i've you know i've jumped through the hoops they want me
[01:06:28] to jump through to try and you know fit in i guess but it's just so much better when you play a game
[01:06:34] that doesn't have all that bullshit to think about like um and those games still do exist like stalker 2
[01:06:40] my most anticipated this game game of this year is stalker 2 and yeah it's got some pre-order bonus
[01:06:45] stuff but it's it's also like it's not gonna have a battle pass it's not gonna have anything else
[01:06:51] it's gonna have traditional expansions and all that kind of stuff so i'm really excited about that
[01:06:56] and i was thinking like like as well with boulder's gate 3 it was boulder's gate 3 was again it was just
[01:07:01] yeah it had an early access period but the game was just the game you play it you love it you finish
[01:07:06] and that's it you know the to deal with it's just that i suppose nothing else yeah pretty much i don't
[01:07:13] think that's the thing it's like but it's indie developers driving that um i'm gonna say that's
[01:07:21] that's gotta be rarer by the day and it's gotta be smaller studios yeah these are like these
[01:07:26] independent studios that just have a passion for it and i think a lot of the the corporate level
[01:07:32] companies they are too margin growth minded and because of the way inflation the inflation wave has been
[01:07:42] they've they've looked for ways to nickel and dime solving more than usual whereas like the
[01:07:47] the smaller companies they don't have as many overheads i think so they don't even they don't
[01:07:51] they don't have overheads and they don't have stakeholders or shareholders so they can just
[01:07:54] focus on the passion and stuff like that i don't know i'm rambling now but
[01:07:59] it's all right it's all right it's a brave new world i guess it it it's it's there you go
[01:08:04] brave new world so keep your eyes open uh you know opinions abound on these sorts of things but
[01:08:10] keep your eyes open for that uh upcoming promotion if that's something that uh suits you and and uh you
[01:08:17] already buy this stuff anyway you know just get some nice stuff on the side or i don't know you'll find
[01:08:22] it later on the trading post as just said because this stuff does end up being there quite often
[01:08:28] uh in the meantime right now we do have one of my all-time favorite events going on in world of
[01:08:34] warcraft is i've talked about before it's brew fest and then right into brew fest now we have
[01:08:39] hallow's end hallow's end started uh just a couple days ago october 25th as we record this
[01:08:44] and it runs until november 8th so it is a short time run uh hallow's end has been around forever
[01:08:51] edless horseman who you heard at the top of this show always love to play that uh when it's hallow's
[01:08:56] end time uh chasing him trying to get the loot filled pumpkins trying to get his mount
[01:09:01] after many years i finally got it jez do you have it i don't i don't have his mount but isn't isn't it
[01:09:08] low poly i don't really care about it if it's like if it does if it's low poly i won't get it is
[01:09:13] it is low poly it is old school yeah it's not like the upgraded one from karazhan that one's badass
[01:09:21] they should update all that if it's part of an event a yearly event update the model you know
[01:09:27] they're too busy making a 90 dollar bruto what are you talking about yeah yeah yeah it's uh
[01:09:37] it it is uh i had to i do question the wisdom on that one because it's it is such a rare mount and
[01:09:43] it's so great but you know maybe you're getting it because it's old school looking but uh amongst
[01:09:48] that there's also a new transmog set which is a i think a different colored version of the
[01:09:54] patched harvest golem uh is this one and it's part of the same sort of golem look there was one on
[01:10:02] the on the auction house i think it's this month october uh this one's a slightly different color
[01:10:07] and you can get pieces of that at a time as you kill the headless horseman i almost have mine
[01:10:13] uh fully collected the drops were pretty generous i've run through it on
[01:10:17] four characters now uh on one and a half days and so far those drops have been pretty generous
[01:10:24] uh arphis we all remember arphis the little ghost pup that appeared i think it was last year the drop
[01:10:32] rate on that i think it's still really fucking low and uh i don't know that i'll ever see that but
[01:10:38] outside of hitting a few candy buckets maybe throwing some stuff with the wicker man once or twice and
[01:10:43] cleaning up some uh stank out in front of stormwind i don't know how much i'll be doing other than
[01:10:48] queuing up for headless horseman runs and just blazing through that on as many accounts as i can
[01:10:52] uh for you jez will you continue to try even for the low poly is that totally out or uh are you engaged
[01:11:00] in the hallows end activities in any meaningful way nah i'm i'm not interested i don't really like
[01:11:07] the seasonal events that much um generally speaking that the the rewards that's an old school player
[01:11:12] right there the awards are like the the rewards are just rarely compelling i think if they want
[01:11:19] these events to actually be more engaged with i mean there's always going to be players that grind
[01:11:25] them every year but i think if they if they do things like upscale the the rewards you get into
[01:11:30] you know like they're done with the tier two sets they get way more engagement but
[01:11:34] hey the arfus uh pet is pretty high res is it really it looks it looks pretty cool i'm not gonna
[01:11:41] lie that's that's a legit looking dog got a metal ass collar on too i i think i think he'd look good
[01:11:47] next to your warlock yeah maybe yeah you might have to think about this so uh be that as it may uh you
[01:11:54] have until november 8th uh if that is something of interest uh to you and then jez we got finally
[01:12:03] finally word on the next big to do for blizzard and world of warcraft at large um i felt recently
[01:12:15] how odd it is not to be getting ready for a blizzcon there's been so many mornings when i've woken up
[01:12:22] and i'm like oh blizzcon no blizzcon is not coming up so it's it's it's still a little strange for us not
[01:12:29] to have that coming but what we do have is the uh long foretold of warcraft uh direct so we have this
[01:12:40] 30th anniversary event that's coming up on november the 13th on it's on a i think it's a wednesday
[01:12:49] at 10 a.m pacific time
[01:12:53] so not something we're going to get the crew together for on the weekend and smoke some delicious
[01:12:58] meats this is i'm just going to be sitting in my office i guess with this on one of my monitors
[01:13:02] while i'm busy working um there's going to be some updates about all things in the warcraft universe
[01:13:11] hearthstone warcraft rumble world of warcraft so we'll see what's going on there they're also going
[01:13:17] to be uh putting up a stream of the concerts that they filmed in was it switzerland uh last month
[01:13:26] uh i think it was uh world of warcraft 20 years of music i haven't heard anything from it but
[01:13:32] we all know the music in this game is this universe is fucking amazing so it can't be bad
[01:13:37] um i'm i'm a little surprised that it's just getting dropped the way that it is
[01:13:47] uh and we haven't been given too much in terms of what's gonna come although apparently devs are
[01:13:55] online on social media then you better not miss it there's gonna be stuff uh for you jez looking into
[01:14:02] your crystal ball what do you think we're gonna get out of this warcraft direct stream surely it's
[01:14:10] gonna be the next season i would think um uh probably announce the next season coming in january or
[01:14:18] something along those lines um can you know continuation of the story i suppose there's been
[01:14:24] there's been some hope you might've seen flying around that it could be like one thing that people said
[01:14:29] they should do is remake warcraft 3 reforged like warcraft 3 reforged re-reforged
[01:14:36] um re-reforged yeah and i'm just like i don't think they're gonna go back to that but i do know
[01:14:42] why would they do that microsoft really highly values the strategy genre like that they invest a ton in
[01:14:48] um in uh age of empires and they've done really well with it like age of mythology re-release was
[01:14:54] really huge this year for them so i know i know they want to do stuff with starcraft so getting
[01:15:01] warcraft 3 reforged sort of i don't know weeks more maybe um because i know they did it they have
[01:15:10] done a ton of work on it and there are people playing it again but um some content for that
[01:15:16] would probably be cool see but i just somehow doubt it um but we'll see you know i they've i think
[01:15:24] they've said it's going to be warcraft rumble and warcraft world of warcraft related mostly
[01:15:29] um i thought warcraft rumble was like dead nah that's still it's still going um that they
[01:15:36] like what what it was was they closed the team that was responsible for launching the game and now
[01:15:42] it's kind of gone into this live ops kind of thing so the team shrunk you know but they're still
[01:15:48] putting content out for it but i would i wouldn't be surprised if we see like a warcraft uh reforged
[01:15:55] um no warcraft rumble expansion pack announced or or some or new season was for that or something like
[01:16:03] that just to maybe give it some press or whatever um but it's not it's not been a huge game you know
[01:16:10] that i think they were trying to do it like uh i can't remember the name of the game it emulates
[01:16:15] is it crash royale or something clash royale crash oh clash of clans yeah i don't think it's
[01:16:21] clash of clans but it's it's in the clash it's all around i think um it hasn't been as big as i
[01:16:29] i probably would have hoped but um yeah it's still pretty fun game i stopped i kind of stopped playing
[01:16:35] it because it's again it's one of them it's like a huge money sink you know you pretty much gotta
[01:16:42] spend money to get anywhere in the game um or or or be willing to grind non-stop all the time all day
[01:16:49] forever and i ain't willing to do either of those um yeah i definitely fell off on that myself so i
[01:16:57] you know i'm sure it'll be interesting to see what that is but uh hearthstone i've made so many
[01:17:03] expansions for that i imagine it'll probably more of that but for world of warcraft i'm hoping that we
[01:17:09] get something at least a little bit beyond 11.1 like and we all know what's coming and maybe we would
[01:17:14] get a you know maybe we get one of those full-on cinematics and that's enough and like all right we're
[01:17:18] going to an undermine or whatever the fuck it is we're going next i'd love i would be so hype if
[01:17:24] under mine or like you know going to koresh again or something you know it's it people seem to think
[01:17:32] like goblins and uh and uh ethereals play a role into the the future of where we're going and i don't
[01:17:39] know i'm still waiting to go i guess to the backside of azeroth because there's some shit going down
[01:17:44] uh i did notice that there's some new npcs in thornagal who who dwarfs i think they're new
[01:17:51] because i don't remember seeing them before discussing like oh the goblins found some new
[01:17:56] crystal off the sit off in the sea on um what's it called uh the the crystal-y place colorful
[01:18:04] like that that could be a hint that there's going to be some kind of island in the sea the underground
[01:18:12] sea there or no maybe they think undermine is big enough to justify a whole expansion around
[01:18:20] maybe it is i don't know but would people be interested in doing another underground expansion
[01:18:24] again after this one i kind of feel like if you're gonna do undermine you might as well just
[01:18:30] make it a patch in this the underground expansion i would think but they know better i suppose
[01:18:37] we'll see let's hope let's hope it's it's with a great launch and then now things are kind of
[01:18:45] middling a little bit and there's there's definitely some grumbling once again in the community i'm
[01:18:50] hoping that by the time this hits and we see what it is and come out of it that people will be
[01:18:55] happier and feeling good about the direction uh that things are heading in and and we'll find out
[01:19:01] and this is why we're delaying our next episode until after we'll be recording the weekend after this
[01:19:08] comes out so we'll be able to talk about it and kind of give our thoughts and opinions and hopefully
[01:19:13] they did something big but i will see so if you're looking to check that out uh november 13th at 10 a.m pacific
[01:19:21] time is when all of that is apparently going to drop and i look forward to seeing what that is
[01:19:29] all right uh we got one more item that i want to touch on today and uh first i want to absolve jez of
[01:19:42] any responsibility and anything that i'm about to say or do this is purely me this is purely me
[01:19:48] doing this for the sake of uh my own self and uh my own thoughts and my own needs wants desires whatever
[01:19:56] um so it is not just the 20th anniversary for world of warcraft uh this is also uh representing the
[01:20:06] ninth anniversary show uh for this podcast on shackled fury uh it was what about 10 days ago was the
[01:20:15] ninth anniversary um i didn't really have anything big planned i just wanted to do our show like
[01:20:24] normal and hopefully next year for the 10th we'll get a big guest or do something fun or i'll i'll
[01:20:30] i'll be working on it just and i'll figure something out for the 10th anniversary next year
[01:20:35] um but it is the ninth anniversary of unshackled fury and whenever i get to
[01:20:42] sort of this time of year this mid-october it's it's always a time for me to reflect on this show
[01:20:51] and you know what it is what it means to me and sort of the purpose that it serves and while this is
[01:21:00] primarily a world of warcraft show this has also served since its very inception as part diary for me
[01:21:11] and it's a way for me to get shit out of my brain and to just fucking shoot it out there into the world
[01:21:19] and i i don't know it's just something that i've always felt the need to do and it's part of the reason
[01:21:27] why i've continued this show is just that a very selfish need uh to do that and so
[01:21:33] i recognize that what i'm about to say and do may result in some of you deciding no longer to listen
[01:21:43] to this show uh that this is the line that you don't want anybody to cross and it's a bridge too
[01:21:51] far pick a euphemism um and i respect your choice to decide fuck berserker fuck that show i'm never going
[01:21:58] to listen to this again and delete and unfollow and whatever you you absolutely have that right
[01:22:04] and i thank you for being here as long as you were uh prior to this moment um but we're at a we're at a
[01:22:12] real inflection point uh in terms of our history and particularly here in the united states where we have
[01:22:21] uh an election coming up that is monumental in a way that i cannot even overstate in in any way
[01:22:30] and i know that a lot of people come to this landscape world of warcraft podcast whatever like
[01:22:36] fuck man i'm just trying to escape and i hear you and i get it and if again if this is where you stop
[01:22:42] then this is where you stop and i i completely respect that choice um i see a lot of the social
[01:22:50] uh social media channels for people that follow this show and follow me and i know what many of
[01:22:58] you support and that you will not like what i have to say and i understand that i can appreciate that i
[01:23:06] i really went back and forth on whether or not i was going to say anything at all but if i have any kind
[01:23:14] of reach at all then i need to use this space appropriately uh to say what i feel is important
[01:23:23] even if it has nothing to do with world of warcraft and blizzard or anything uh for me when it comes to
[01:23:31] politics i have absolutely reached my saturation point uh i think like most people have uh every time
[01:23:38] i see news alerts and different things i just feel like that shock of adrenaline that you know some
[01:23:43] shit's breaking loose uh there's you know all kinds of uh fallout and and other political events outside
[01:23:52] of the us that are catastrophic uh we have humanitarian crises like no other uh right now in other places
[01:24:00] uh it's it's it's an intense time and and that's understating it quite a bit um but i've reached my
[01:24:07] saturation point and i i have to sort of step out of all the social media that i see the news i see i i
[01:24:15] have to step back at this point myself but this will be my punctuation point on it all is me giving my
[01:24:22] piece because typically i don't talk about politics on this show i don't talk about politics on twitter
[01:24:29] because it doesn't usually serve any good you just get a bunch of hive mind
[01:24:34] fucking craziness yelling and screaming at you and that's not what any of this is supposed to be
[01:24:41] a little more background about myself um that i've never shared before uh for me personally
[01:24:48] politically uh i grew up in a conservative household uh i was initially registered as a republican
[01:24:55] i was until 2004 and i've been no party preference ever since because i didn't want anybody telling me
[01:25:05] how to think uh it's kind of always been sort of my thing if you followed this show i i have my own
[01:25:11] thoughts uh about stuff and that that is as true in the real world as it is here about world of warcraft
[01:25:17] and i have always tried to find a balance point in terms of information and understanding of what's
[01:25:27] going on in the world and not being jaded by one particular lens or another those of you that know
[01:25:37] me personally you know that politics is part of my professional life like as a job i am involved in it
[01:25:47] every day i deal with politicians every day here in california nonetheless so believe me when i tell you
[01:25:53] i probably know more about the politics of this state than most people you're going to come across
[01:26:00] if any in this space and i'm eyes wide open about that too i'm not here to tell you that you know
[01:26:07] everything that we do is great and perfect because it certainly isn't um i i directly work for
[01:26:14] the governor of the state gavin newsom and i disagree with quite a lot of what he does and says
[01:26:21] um and i say all of that to say over the time that i've done this show i hope that i have earned
[01:26:27] your trust i hope that you understand that i come to things with an open mind and trying to understand
[01:26:34] again that balance point and not be guided by one political philosophy or another i consider myself to
[01:26:41] be a bit center left i think it's probably the best way to say it um in my professional life
[01:26:48] in this capacity i have worked with kamala harris's office i i have i have worked with her and i know her
[01:26:58] to be a smart and capable person all of this bullshit about how she's dumb or stupid or whatever i i
[01:27:07] stress to you this is so far from the truth it's it's insane to me and i get it if you've never met
[01:27:14] her you don't know her most people haven't how the fuck would you you know you see what you see
[01:27:19] i knew her through her capacities the attorney general uh of this state um i voted for her before
[01:27:25] you know she's a senator of the state and she's been around in california politics for
[01:27:30] a number of years in this capacity and i i have never known her to be someone of you know ill
[01:27:37] repute and i know there's all this stuff about you know fucking willie brown which is hilarious to me
[01:27:42] but none of that matters that's what i'm here to tell you none of that matters the the the
[01:27:51] campaigning is different than the governing and it's hard to separate the two at times i know
[01:27:57] and there's so many falsehoods out there i i and i'm not here to debate them all because it's pointless
[01:28:04] the one thing i do want to take up though in the in the midst of what i'm saying is
[01:28:09] i hear a lot of talk about the trans community and how it's used as a cudgel
[01:28:17] um you know that they're trying to sneak into women you know girls bathrooms and like all this just
[01:28:23] stupid shit in the time that i've had this show and if you've listened long enough you know
[01:28:29] i have had two trans guests on this show one who's been here more than once
[01:28:35] one being who you used to know as frazzly goes by jay and desma fisto who also goes by jess nowadays
[01:28:46] i've seen the struggles of these individuals i've seen what they've had to go through
[01:28:51] with their family with their with their lives with dealing with
[01:28:55] medical procedures and insurance and the government and it's you're not going through that because
[01:29:02] it's just fun you're not going through that just because you're trying to get access to some
[01:29:07] girls bathroom that's not what any of this is about and to see them being used as some sort of other
[01:29:14] that is dangerous and it's like the drag queens being around children if you've ever seen a drag
[01:29:18] show you'd know how ridiculous that all of that talk really is because these are some of the smartest
[01:29:24] most creative people on the planet and to equate trans people and drag queens with pedophiles it shows
[01:29:34] you have no idea what you were talking about and so among all of the other things that are said out
[01:29:40] there that is one point i wanted to take up because i find it particularly disgusting how that is being
[01:29:48] utilized uh in some of the political ads i've seen uh specifically
[01:29:53] so here's the point that i'm getting to ultimately
[01:29:58] yes i think you should vote for kamala harris if you live in nevada arizona michigan wisconsin
[01:30:07] pennsylvania north carolina or georgia you're in a swing state and i beg you to vote
[01:30:14] beg you to vote kamala harris and this isn't because oh you know i met her and i like her or whatever
[01:30:23] no this is more because the other guy
[01:30:30] is one of the most vile motherfuckers on this planet
[01:30:34] and if you don't see that then i can't help you but i'll say that anybody who lies about 9 11 and
[01:30:42] their supposed involvement and what they did to make themselves look good as much as this individual
[01:30:47] does that's all i've ever needed to know let alone everything that's happened since
[01:30:53] but if you are in one of these swing states and you're on the fence or you're not sure you weren't
[01:30:57] going to vote or whatever get your ass off the couch and get out there and vote the republic
[01:31:05] isn't going to fall because trump becomes president again if that happens but the trajectory that we are
[01:31:12] all going to be on will be catastrophic globally and i don't say that lightly i don't
[01:31:19] say that because i'm trying to be hysterical and whatever i say this is somebody who works in this field
[01:31:26] who sees what i see as the experiences that i do kamala is not going to be perfect nobody is
[01:31:32] she's going to fuck up she's going to make mistakes there's going to be things that i'm like oh my god
[01:31:36] why did you do that i can't believe i went on my podcast and bounced for you like that's going to happen
[01:31:42] but this isn't about the ideal candidate this is about finding the best bite on a shit sandwich
[01:31:49] none of these bites are going to be the one that you want and none of them are going to be the
[01:31:53] greatest thing you ever had but there's going to be at least one piece that's more crust than
[01:31:57] shit and that's the one that we're trying to find here to be honest with you and i think kamala harris
[01:32:03] will be okay i don't i don't know that she's going to be the greatest thing ever but she's going to be
[01:32:08] better than the alternative we cannot go back we cannot support a fascist regime we cannot support
[01:32:15] the kind of dictatorial uh uh leanings that we see from trump we cannot do it and if you've made it
[01:32:25] this far into this podcast bless your heart i love you for it and you could be shaking your head and
[01:32:30] saying no all this is wrong and i'm full of shit and you are free to do so and you don't have to like
[01:32:35] kamala at all and and and there are plenty of good republicans out there and this isn't about that
[01:32:41] there's plenty of good people in both parties that are trying to serve the greater good but this one
[01:32:46] guy i'm telling you we put him back in power a lot of people are going to hurt be hurt and a lot of
[01:32:54] people are going to die people are going to lose their lives we've already seen it with what happened
[01:32:59] after roe v wade was uh was undone by the supreme court and there's only more to come and i beg of you
[01:33:06] my my fellow country folk get your ass off the couch and go vote please vote for kamala harris
[01:33:15] i have no other power than this other than my voice on this podcast um but i could not in good
[01:33:22] conscience let this episode go out without saying something finally and this would be the only thing
[01:33:28] i'm saying about it you want to come back and argue with me you're welcome to scream at me wherever
[01:33:32] you want i'm not going to engage because at this point i'm done i'm checking out until after the
[01:33:38] election is over um i know how close it is i know what it looks like we're on a knife's edge and it's
[01:33:44] gonna fall however it's gonna fall as a straight middle class white guy no matter what happens i'm
[01:33:49] probably gonna skate through better than most um this isn't about me this is about our trans friends
[01:33:54] this is about our friends um you know that are not part of the majority um this is about our allies uh
[01:34:02] around the world this isn't even just about our country this is about everyone and you have a
[01:34:07] power right now especially those of you in those states you have a power right now to affect something
[01:34:13] real something tangible because if something goes bad you sat out and did nothing believe me you're
[01:34:21] gonna regret that and there are people that are gonna vote for his ass they're gonna regret it just
[01:34:25] like they did in 2016 and some people will always believe that he's the savior i'm telling you he's not
[01:34:30] a lion sack of shit and yeah you can say all politicians are liars and whatever but there
[01:34:35] there is a level that is different and so one last time please go vote go vote and if you listen to
[01:34:45] this after the election has happened well then you'll know what the outcome is and whether this
[01:34:52] effectuated any help or not um but i appreciate you all for continuing to listen to this show as long as
[01:34:59] you have uh if you're checking out at this point totally understand um but in good conscience i could
[01:35:04] not let this go so uh my apologies to jez for uh potentially putting us into some sort of hot water
[01:35:10] but again i i absolve him uh of all uh uh responsibility and this this is totally on me um
[01:35:17] and thanks again i i appreciate you all so with that uh jez i think we've done enough damage
[01:35:26] uh for one episode so for those who don't already know where can the good people find you on the
[01:35:32] internet you can find me at jez cordon on threads and twitter and all those other places you know at
[01:35:39] least if the right candidate wins that is otherwise russia is probably gonna blow me up but um
[01:35:46] that's where you can find me and uh and uh yeah i suppose that's about it there it is well uh once
