[00:01:01] The Queen has fallen and delves a colon.

[00:01:06] As the last acts of our first 4A into the war within, come to their conclusion.

[00:01:12] So welcome back from Episode 153 of your Uncensored Home for World of Warcraft News and opinions Unshackled Fury.

[00:01:21] I'm your host, Berzerker, and with me once again is the man who proves!

[00:01:26] You can never have too much of a good thing.

[00:01:30] Mr. Jez Corden, welcome back in Good Sir.

[00:01:34] I do, it has a go-im.

[00:01:37] There, man.

[00:01:38] Feels like the weekend...

[00:01:41] I just vanished and developed a vow in a...

[00:01:45] In a haze of loads of different things I had to do.

[00:01:49] You know how weekend we're like...

[00:01:52] Well, you just have...

[00:01:54] Huns are stuff you gotta do, so it's not relaxing at all and then it's Monday.

[00:01:59] You know what? That's the life of every working parent let me tell you.

[00:02:02] It's just one thing to the next and that's why every time you and I record, I would say...

[00:02:10] You know, people have to understand the true...

[00:02:15] As we've said, cinema, the Peter Joy and Beauty of the fact that you and I are able to align this one window in our lives to get together and talk about Warcraft.

[00:02:27] Yeah, for sure.

[00:02:27] Shipwreck and loose everywhere.

[00:02:29] I mean, I can't imagine throwing kids into the mix as well.

[00:02:35] Like, even during my right earlier, if anyone from my guilds listened to this, I really apologize.

[00:02:40] But I was like, my bosses were...

[00:02:42] Message me on Slack saying, oh, I could get you this.

[00:02:44] Can you do that?

[00:02:45] Tomorrow and I was like, oh man, I'm trying to raid it!

[00:02:48] You know, it's the evening on a Sunday.

[00:02:50] Can you not leave me alone?

[00:02:52] Oh, and...

[00:02:53] And, you know, it's a pretty publishing room.

[00:02:56] There's no, there's no downtime in publishing.

[00:03:00] No off-days and news.

[00:03:02] Yeah.

[00:03:04] Well...

[00:03:04] Well, we made it.

[00:03:06] This is a sequester time and, you know, nobody's allowed to talk to you but me right now.

[00:03:13] So that's...

[00:03:13] Maybe your significant after that might be the one chance.

[00:03:18] But on the good side of things, on the happy side of things, on the fun side of things.

[00:03:26] As we've been talking about the last several weeks in episodes, World of Warcraft.

[00:03:32] On the highest of highs right now.

[00:03:35] Oh yeah.

[00:03:35] I have continued.

[00:03:38] I just...

[00:03:38] I have quested already now more than I ever did in the totality of Dragonflight.

[00:03:45] I've kind of held back even completing some quests because I'm like,

[00:03:49] I'm getting through them all now and I don't want it to end and I want to keep...

[00:03:55] Having my quest log full but, you know, eventually I'll work through this stuff.

[00:03:59] But I'm just having so much fucking fun.

[00:04:02] It's just that itch in my brain is back and scratching it every night by doing...

[00:04:08] World quests and delves and side quests and all the stuff.

[00:04:12] Like, it's just...

[00:04:13] This is the highest of highs, baby.

[00:04:15] This is good as it gets.

[00:04:17] It's a really good time, man.

[00:04:19] Like, they've...

[00:04:22] Like, at all, at every level I think alike because, you know,

[00:04:25] for more casual player, you've got the ability to get gear and level up and do delves and push...

[00:04:32] You know, to your kind of raid tier content, which is the Zekvier Challenge Mode Dungeon.

[00:04:40] So you've got that progression layer.

[00:04:41] But then if you're a raider or if you're someone more hardcore,

[00:04:44] then you've got that to enjoy on top of what you usually do.

[00:04:49] Like, all through Dragonfly.

[00:04:51] A pretty much, I don't know, it got to a point where I don't need log on for raids.

[00:04:54] There's no reason to log on during the rest of the week.

[00:04:56] But now it's like, oh, because of war bands, it feels viable to gear up,

[00:05:02] bolts and, you know, make powerful bolts, thanks to delves and war bands.

[00:05:07] So, I just find a way more reasons to log on now, even if someone who was pretty hardcore...

[00:05:12] Well, so it's been really good, man. It's been awesome.

[00:05:15] And it's been so good. And, you know, it was even so good that I couldn't help but think about where I was and my deltrack and what I wanted to do when this past week.

[00:05:28] The WWE came to town, and I was at the SmackDown Show Friday night.

[00:05:32] So if you look in the crowd, you actually could see me and my son.

[00:05:37] We were on TV a whole bunch of times, and he asked me...

[00:05:40] For LA night, because that's one of his guys. And it was so much fun.

[00:05:46] What was that?

[00:05:48] Why was it? Why was a SmackDown record?

[00:05:49] They were in Sacramento on Friday night, and, you know, it just...

[00:05:57] Like, where we in Warcraft are having the highest of highs and good times right now.

[00:06:01] Like, they are having their own Renaissance. So like, these two things sort of colliding at the same time.

[00:06:06] It's been phenomenal, but seeing a live show...

[00:06:10] I haven't seen more than 20 years, because I was out. I wasn't watching it. I wasn't active.

[00:06:15] And now coming back to it and seeing it live. And we got possibly one of the best dark matches of all time,

[00:06:21] because after they'd gone off TV right...

[00:06:23] And, you know, they didn't a brand split a long time ago and it was RAW and it was SmackDown.

[00:06:26] Well, we got Drew McIntyre and Jay Uso from RAW. They were there at SmackDown after the cameras went off.

[00:06:34] And the two of them had a match and it was one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

[00:06:37] It was bad at that.

[00:06:38] Oh, my God. That's really funny, right? Because I saw a meme of the day where it was like...

[00:06:43] It was like trolling Jay Uso and it was like...

[00:06:47] Where is Jay Uso? He's never on TV. It's like that. And it's...

[00:06:50] It's like, well...

[00:06:52] Nearly he's active. He's...

[00:06:53] He's dark matches and stuff. He's just trying to...

[00:06:56] Yeah, yeah. He was...

[00:06:57] It's a small world dude. And I tell you why.

[00:07:00] I've got a friend who told me they were at the SmackDown record in.

[00:07:03] It's past week as well.

[00:07:04] Oh, really?

[00:07:05] Yeah, so there's...

[00:07:07] Someone I know of in the SmackDown.

[00:07:10] There was SmackDown as well. I've recently...

[00:07:12] Well, they saw it in a map of the show.

[00:07:14] My mouth is actually...

[00:07:15] Oh, they know.

[00:07:16] What was this?

[00:07:18] Someone from the high-low team.

[00:07:20] Someone from the high-low team. Okay.

[00:07:22] All right.

[00:07:23] Listen, it was worth the travel if they were from outside of the local area.

[00:07:28] But certainly, locally that was...

[00:07:30] And it's the only show we're getting. There's nothing like in San Francisco or San Jose or anyone

[00:07:34] that they typically will stop kind of up here with the bigger rena.

[00:07:38] So this was the one stop, man. We got our money's worth.

[00:07:42] That's pretty amptious.

[00:07:43] So writing the highest of highs...

[00:07:46] It's phenomenal. It's just such a good time to be part of these communities.

[00:07:50] But like I said, even then having all this fun...

[00:07:53] Well, thinking about, okay, I gotta get home tonight.

[00:07:57] And I gotta hang out this...

[00:07:59] Boundable tell because I need to get this shit done.

[00:08:01] And I want to. Now because I feel compelled, it's a rating one.

[00:08:04] Me to do it. It's just fun.

[00:08:07] So let the good times roll.

[00:08:10] And we've certainly got some of that to talk about today.

[00:08:13] But before we do...

[00:08:15] Just I have a wonderful metal album of the week this week.

[00:08:23] And...

[00:08:23] What I ask you, Quest?

[00:08:25] Hey, mate.

[00:08:26] You're an expert on this.

[00:08:27] What would you say is the greatest export from your native country?

[00:08:35] The greatest export.

[00:08:38] It's coincidental again because I was literally telling someone on Twitter yesterday that one of Britain's biggest exports is music.

[00:08:46] And entertainment and TV and TV format.

[00:08:50] I love the footage you watch on this coverage channel.

[00:08:55] That's from the BBC Natural History Unit.

[00:08:58] So like, yeah, it was weird that you say that.

[00:09:01] So yeah, metal, I suppose.

[00:09:04] The black Sabbath is...

[00:09:06] Often regarded as one of the...

[00:09:10] And I've got...

[00:09:11] I don't have a told you this story before about Black Sabbath.

[00:09:15] Am I family?

[00:09:17] All I know is that you hail from the same region or something to that effect.

[00:09:22] Yeah, indeed.

[00:09:23] So the black Sabbath are from the Black Country, which is...

[00:09:28] It's a region of England referred...

[00:09:31] Historians think that they call it the Black Country because it's where all the coal mines were.

[00:09:37] And the sky was black and the houses were covered in coal-sut and they would black.

[00:09:42] And everything was black in this region.

[00:09:44] And black Sabbath is from Birmingham and Wolverhampton sort of region.

[00:09:49] Which is sort of where my family's from.

[00:09:52] And Aussie Osbourne's brother, Tony Osbourne, who's no longer with us sadly.

[00:09:59] Oh, his mother...

[00:10:01] Carpet.

[00:10:06] He was a...

[00:10:07] What?

[00:10:08] He always my mother a carpet.

[00:10:11] So...

[00:10:12] He said he would...

[00:10:13] My mom paid him or something.

[00:10:16] Uh-huh.

[00:10:16] A lie down some carpet on our landing.

[00:10:19] Hmm.

[00:10:19] And he never did it.

[00:10:22] It's...

[00:10:23] There are...

[00:10:23] There are rotten scoundrels.

[00:10:25] It's so terrible.

[00:10:28] That's a hell of a metal connection.

[00:10:30] There.

[00:10:32] Well, you are...

[00:10:33] You are a...

[00:10:35] You are a...

[00:10:35] You are on the right track.

[00:10:37] You are on the right track.

[00:10:38] Oh.

[00:10:40] Um...

[00:10:40] But there is a single individual.

[00:10:42] And... and I don't know how many people actually associate this individual with metal itself.

[00:10:49] But if there was like one person that ever came out of the... of the empire,

[00:10:57] There's one person I think that contributed to the most things in it in the greatest way.

[00:11:02] And that would be...

[00:11:03] Circus to For Lee.

[00:11:05] Oh yeah.

[00:11:06] And Circus to For Lee has a great tradition within the metal community.

[00:11:10] He was big fan and created a lot of metal himself.

[00:11:14] And...

[00:11:14] His talents...

[00:11:16] His unique talents were put to use in an album that I want all of you to listen to because one...

[00:11:21] It's a great power metal album.

[00:11:22] Two.

[00:11:23] It's a concept album, so this is like a story all the way through which I love.

[00:11:26] But three, it is narrated by Christopher Lee from Start to Finish.

[00:11:31] And this is Symphony of Enchanted Lands 2, The Dark Secret by Rhapsody of Fire.

[00:11:37] It is...

[00:11:39] For...

[00:11:39] Think I've heard of that.

[00:11:40] You know, I think I've heard about them.

[00:11:42] It's been...

[00:11:43] I didn't know yet some sort of connection to Ma'am.

[00:11:46] Oh yes.

[00:11:46] Oh yes.

[00:11:47] This was released.

[00:11:49] This is a 20 year old album now.

[00:11:51] It was actually released.

[00:11:52] Nearly 20 years ago this week, September 27th, 2004.

[00:11:58] And yeah, he did some other...

[00:12:00] I think he did like a metal Christmas album and he's done a bunch of different things.

[00:12:04] But you know the man that was a spy.

[00:12:07] And of course he was Count Ducu and the Star Wars movies franchise.

[00:12:11] He was also...

[00:12:12] The great Sauravan in the Lord of the Rings and you know...

[00:12:18] It's contributed, I mean, to a million other things.

[00:12:21] He was a villain in the Wickhamon as well.

[00:12:23] Which is one of my favorite movies.

[00:12:25] There you go.

[00:12:26] There you go.

[00:12:26] There you go.

[00:12:27] There you go.

[00:12:30] Scaramanga.

[00:12:33] And James Bond movies.

[00:12:34] I think I'm saying that name right it's been a minute.

[00:12:35] But he's a true legend.

[00:12:38] And when you fire up this album and there's a little bit of a musical interlude.

[00:12:42] And you hear that unmistakable voice start telling you this story that's...

[00:12:48] It's perfect for the power metal vein and it's fantasy all the way through and through.

[00:12:52] And it is just...

[00:12:53] It's such a cool last thing to pick up on.

[00:12:56] And...

[00:12:57] Rhapsody of Fire, which was...

[00:12:58] Rhapsody at one point, then became Rhapsody of Fire.

[00:13:01] They are a true power metal band.

[00:13:04] They're also another Italian power metal band,

[00:13:07] so continuing our tour through the boot on that one.

[00:13:11] But if you have not ever listened to this album out there folks,

[00:13:16] I highly recommend it.

[00:13:17] It is available on all your platforms wherever you look for.

[00:13:21] Although this is somewhat obscure, I promise.

[00:13:24] It is out there.

[00:13:26] And unholy war cry.

[00:13:27] Track number two, that would be my favorite.

[00:13:29] So, if you have not listened to it, get out there and get it down for the sake of jazz and all the fine folks that...

[00:13:39] Put forth the great British...

[00:13:43] I don't know.

[00:13:45] Metal assault that's out there.

[00:13:48] On that great tradition.

[00:13:50] Alright!

[00:13:52] What would jump into a little bit of talk about...

[00:13:55] Campaign and the raid?

[00:13:57] I have a raid stop at the pop-up this week that...

[00:14:01] I know many of you can identify with.

[00:14:04] And we gotta talk about this.

[00:14:06] So, let's get to it!

[00:14:15] Just as we've mentioned, talked about...

[00:14:19] Lotted at the top of the show how great things are in more craft right now.

[00:14:24] And...

[00:14:24] If ever there was a sign, truly of how great things are.

[00:14:34] I...

[00:14:34] Time walking dungeons through the...

[00:14:37] Through the L of G.

[00:14:39] Oh, wow.

[00:14:40] I haven't done in like...

[00:14:43] I don't know, ever.

[00:14:44] Like, I...

[00:14:46] I avoid dungeon...

[00:14:48] Random dungeon groups like the plague.

[00:14:51] I don't find it to be...

[00:14:53] Particularly nourishing for my soul.

[00:14:56] So, whenever there's that time walking quest to get like five dungeons done or whatever,

[00:14:59] I'm like, well fuck that, I guess that's not what I'm doing this week.

[00:15:03] But...

[00:15:04] In the spirit of the new age of the world soul song,

[00:15:08] and then war within and all the great times were having us like, you know what?

[00:15:10] Okay.

[00:15:11] I'm gonna do it.

[00:15:12] Burning crusade, time walking dungeons...

[00:15:14] There's a lot of stuff in there that scarred me as a young...

[00:15:19] New Warcraft flare, but damn it, I'm gonna go back.

[00:15:22] We're gonna...

[00:15:22] We're gonna make this right.

[00:15:25] Fire it it up.

[00:15:27] Got it in my first group.

[00:15:29] We're in the blood furnace.

[00:15:29] Bro, when's the last time you were in the blood furnace?

[00:15:32] Out there in Hellfire Peninsula.

[00:15:33] It's been...

[00:15:34] For ever since I've seen it.

[00:15:37] And I'm like, alright, let's go.

[00:15:38] And I see another warrior in the group.

[00:15:40] I'm like, yes, another warrior.

[00:15:41] Let's go.

[00:15:41] Let's get this done and we start pulling.

[00:15:44] We pull the first...

[00:15:46] Trash pack.

[00:15:49] The other warrior.

[00:15:50] It's Blade Storm.

[00:15:52] And across my screen, I see him yelling,

[00:15:56] BAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

[00:15:56] Like all across the screen.

[00:15:59] And I'm like, well that's a fun macro.

[00:16:02] We get to the next trash pack.

[00:16:05] WAAAAAAAHHHHH!

[00:16:06] Sitting is whirlwind.

[00:16:10] And for the next, I don't know, 15 minutes.

[00:16:13] Every time this dude hit whirlwind or whoever, you know, whatever,

[00:16:16] gender they are with this person, they hit the whirlwind.

[00:16:20] WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

[00:16:20] All the way across the screen.

[00:16:22] I saw it on it.

[00:16:23] Listen people.

[00:16:25] I can appreciate if you macro something like,

[00:16:28] let's see you've got it interrupted.

[00:16:30] And you've got to set it in a rupt order and you say, okay, on to so and so.

[00:16:33] And so I'm passing that baton around.

[00:16:35] Please don't have super annoying ass macros.

[00:16:39] We're yelling stuff out all across the screen.

[00:16:41] Every time you hit an ability, it's just...

[00:16:44] It's a noxious.

[00:16:46] I noticed, um, playing through delves that...

[00:16:50] You sometimes get players who don't have a...

[00:16:54] The usual group at the get, I think like that.

[00:16:57] No. No.

[00:17:00] No, and this person was leveling through dungeons.

[00:17:02] I could see because you know, there were...

[00:17:04] There you had, you know, the right level.

[00:17:06] To see that they were, you know, this is their chosen path.

[00:17:10] And I weep for all the other people that got group with this individual

[00:17:13] that every time they hit a trash bag, every time they hit a boss,

[00:17:17] you knew that that whirlwind just cut up.

[00:17:19] And they smashed that button.

[00:17:21] WAAAAAAHHHHHH!

[00:17:22] All the way across.

[00:17:24] And I was like, you know, I love being a warrior.

[00:17:27] And I love my people.

[00:17:28] But this is a horrible example.

[00:17:30] You make it a terrible name for all of us out there.

[00:17:31] It's bad enough that Slayer is the worst hero talent system that we have ever had.

[00:17:37] Now you gotta go out there and make us all look like assholes.

[00:17:40] Every time you hit that whirlwind, it goes, waaaaaaaah!

[00:17:42] And you know, out into Kingdom Cump.

[00:17:44] So listen, folks.

[00:17:46] If you got a good interrupt and you got to...

[00:17:48] You got to make an interrupt order and you got to yell something out.

[00:17:51] If you got like a one word thing, you got to say like,

[00:17:54] Hey, everybody eat up when I put food out.

[00:17:56] That's cool.

[00:17:56] If there's instructional things, that are helpful.

[00:17:58] That is cool.

[00:17:59] You're being a great person out there and that is phenomenal.

[00:18:01] But if you're just like, obnoxiously yelling things every time, please give this poor

[00:18:08] all man a break because, uh, this is why I don't do these tensions.

[00:18:12] I try to avoid these kinds of people.

[00:18:14] But I didn't get it done, Jess.

[00:18:16] I did get the question done.

[00:18:17] I did get all five of my dungeons in.

[00:18:18] And I did legitimately have fun.

[00:18:21] Most of it.

[00:18:22] I'm seeing some of the older Burning Crusade dungeons.

[00:18:26] But, uh...

[00:18:27] Ah!

[00:18:28] Other people, man.

[00:18:29] I know it's an MMO, but sometimes...

[00:18:34] That's maybe a question when I'm...

[00:18:36] I don't know.

[00:18:37] Is the art of being in a group?

[00:18:40] Is that art?

[00:18:41] The etiquette of that is at last now for ever to time.

[00:18:45] Do you find that like,

[00:18:47] Because browsing the subreddit and stuff like that,

[00:18:50] Like, you get like American threads.

[00:18:52] That are clearly my bio-American.

[00:18:54] And then you get European threads,

[00:18:55] clearly my bio-European.

[00:18:57] And it does seem like there's just completely different cultures when it comes to some of this stuff.

[00:19:03] Like, if I don't American realms try chart that in America, he's...

[00:19:07] Scary.

[00:19:08] Eats, scary.

[00:19:10] Ah!

[00:19:11] Yeah.

[00:19:12] Political...

[00:19:12] Oh, arguments.

[00:19:14] 24, 7.

[00:19:15] And then like, you go on European trade chart and they're talking about...

[00:19:18] ...for various or something like that.

[00:19:21] And being awying on main...

[00:19:27] That's not for the faint heart, brother.

[00:19:32] Alright, well listen, folks, you heard it here first.

[00:19:34] Let's bring some etiquette back.

[00:19:36] I'm not saying it's got to be totally 100% like you're...

[00:19:39] ...indian with a queen kind of etiquette,

[00:19:40] But just, you know, just enough.

[00:19:43] Just enough to be courteous.

[00:19:45] So with that being said, we got some news.

[00:19:47] And some other things we're going to talk about.

[00:19:50] Since we got one resident radar left here on this show,

[00:19:53] We got to pick us brain a little bit.

[00:19:55] So let's get into that news.

[00:20:05] So since we last were here, the raid...

[00:20:09] The raid has been out.

[00:20:11] A nearby palace that's been out for a little bit here.

[00:20:15] And we've got the race for World First.

[00:20:18] Talk about that in a little bit.

[00:20:20] And as we've got the story, I'm gonna talk about that in a little bit.

[00:20:24] A couple of LFR wings, talk about that in a little bit.

[00:20:27] But first, just as the sole remaining active radar

[00:20:33] in this podcasting to some of ours,

[00:20:39] What has your experience with the raid been like so far?

[00:20:43] Thoughts opinions reviews, what do you think about it?

[00:20:48] So I really like the raid.

[00:20:50] I think it's a bit short and honestly.

[00:20:53] I found it a bit easy so far.

[00:20:56] It feels like the only difficult bosses of right-the end.

[00:21:02] And the difficulty spike is massive.

[00:21:05] So it's like, you're playing...

[00:21:07] You're having this really pleasant time.

[00:21:08] If you're seeing that meme where it's like,

[00:21:10] The dudes like, myelin and happy

[00:21:13] is having a really pleasant time and just chillin.

[00:21:16] And then like, there's a meme next to it which is the next seed.

[00:21:22] And there's a sweat in it, he's keyboard smashing the keys.

[00:21:25] He's freaking out.

[00:21:26] It really feels like that between the tears.

[00:21:30] And so you get to the council and it's like,

[00:21:34] You've probably much won or two shot every boss up to this point.

[00:21:38] And all of a sudden it takes this massive difficulty spike.

[00:21:41] So the difficulty spikes have been a bit weird

[00:21:46] and I think it speaks to the lack of spooning.

[00:21:50] I think the dungeons had in general.

[00:21:53] And no, the expansion's had in general, honestly.

[00:21:55] Because so many things I feel like haven't been tested that well.

[00:22:00] You know, the hero talents are being reworked.

[00:22:04] The devils are being undergoing them.

[00:22:07] Masses of tuning constantly.

[00:22:11] So I feel like they've spread themselves, spread themselves thin a bit

[00:22:14] and balance in general, the suffered in dragonfly I think.

[00:22:19] But it's cool for me, actually.

[00:22:23] And maybe because my guild we only ever do ahead of the curve.

[00:22:27] We never push into a roeic.

[00:22:30] We never push into mythics, sorry.

[00:22:32] We only do a roeic.

[00:22:33] So like maybe I'm starting to wonder like,

[00:22:36] Because of how easy this has been.

[00:22:38] Will we get gear fast enough that we can actually maybe push into mythic this time?

[00:22:43] Is Blizzard done this intentionally to try and increase your amount of people that actually do get to mythic?

[00:22:49] Because I think most guilds kind of kill in heroic and then maybe get stuck with mythic.

[00:22:57] But I don't know, it's been a bit interesting.

[00:23:01] You're in an earlier, we're almost clear to Rhoeical ready.

[00:23:05] I was going to ask how far are you now at Rhoeic?

[00:23:09] We got three bosses to go, I think.

[00:23:13] So, the three harder ones, probably enough.

[00:23:15] But open to this point, we've one shot at a two shot at everybody.

[00:23:18] Which kind of guild?

[00:23:20] Yeah, it's, yeah, it's.

[00:23:23] I think part of it is, they'll tear right delves.

[00:23:27] Just give you such a good gear.

[00:23:29] We've sort of get the usual, oh, got to get gear,

[00:23:33] That's cool.

[00:23:35] Because doing that, you can solo, well, some classes can at least.

[00:23:38] You can solo, tear right delves.

[00:23:40] You get like, really good gear.

[00:23:43] And it just eliminates the point of doing normal mode raids completely pretty much.

[00:23:48] So I think they need to find you in some of that aspects of it.

[00:23:50] The balance, how much gear delves give you, I think.

[00:23:55] I mean, as much as I appreciate delves and what it's doing for casual play,

[00:24:00] It's kind of growing up, the usual, you know,

[00:24:05] Right balance, I think in some, or some regards, my normal mode rides curb a chooseless.

[00:24:10] But, I don't know, let's say we'll see what we'll see what happens.

[00:24:15] Yeah, it, it's always been interesting to me that normal mode raid at this point is,

[00:24:27] It's not gonna afterthought.

[00:24:29] It's almost like it's just, you know, back in the old days when it was 10 and 25 person,

[00:24:34] Right, those are kind of the differentiation between the raids.

[00:24:37] Then you had some hardcore modes where you could push a button and do a thing.

[00:24:41] And then, you know, when they added the heroic version like, okay, we're doing normal, we're doing heroic,

[00:24:47] Like heroic, that's the big jam.

[00:24:49] But then they added 20 person mythic and it's like, okay, well,

[00:24:53] How are you gonna tune this thing?

[00:24:54] Like who is this for?

[00:24:56] Long term, who is this for? What are you looking at?

[00:24:58] And so I know for myself, never been part of the mythic team.

[00:25:02] I don't know, that seems to be what everybody thinks that they are when you're recruiting.

[00:25:07] So I don't know how that's going.

[00:25:10] I can tell you that so far, LFR has been pretty difficult.

[00:25:14] That is the one version of raiding that I am participating in.

[00:25:18] And it is the usual hijinks that one would expect,

[00:25:24] But getting to see the raid that way has been educational.

[00:25:27] As always, and it seems like it's a fun enough raid.

[00:25:32] I did do the story mode, the story mode we talked about,

[00:25:36] Story mode, Story mode is out.

[00:25:38] And I was surprised that they did it before they released the third wing of LFR, but it's okay.

[00:25:45] So today, we're not gonna be talking about the end of the raid,

[00:25:49] And we're gonna talk about kind of where the story ends up a bit.

[00:25:52] So if you don't want to hear anything of this discussion, like, pass forward, sorry.

[00:25:56] But there's a very important elephant in the room that we need to talk about.

[00:26:01] With Story mode, it is revolutionary to me because it proves that you can do raids so low.

[00:26:15] That you can have an entire group of AI and one live person,

[00:26:22] And you can make these things work because that's essentially what they did when you go in

[00:26:27] And you fight, we dance, or else if you pop into the Story mode raid,

[00:26:33] And it's you and nine other AI's.

[00:26:37] And it was fun!

[00:26:38] Went right in?

[00:26:40] Did the business?

[00:26:40] You still gotta do mechanics?

[00:26:42] You still gotta do different things, right?

[00:26:44] It's not a complete, you can't just stand there and just get it done.

[00:26:48] You actually do have to participate and get things done.

[00:26:51] But to me, it is fairly revolutionary improving the tech.

[00:26:56] And now I don't know how complicated it can get where it has certain breakpoints,

[00:27:01] Where it's like, oh, this is too much. You can't handle it.

[00:27:04] But it, it, I don't know, it seems like a fairly positive trial balloon to see if that is going to work.

[00:27:12] But I did Story mode, I enjoyed it quite a bit, and we got the kill.

[00:27:16] You don't get any loot out of it or anything like that.

[00:27:18] It's just too see it to see how it ends and to finish the whole thing.

[00:27:23] You get a ruined, harbourgic quest that's pretty, pretty awesome.

[00:27:28] You get a what now?

[00:27:30] A ruined harbouring, bringe.

[00:27:33] Oh, the crests!

[00:27:34] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:27:35] So that's after you a 6-1-6 piece of gear if you buy the right match for it.

[00:27:39] There you go.

[00:27:40] So you do get that, that is true.

[00:27:41] You do get that.

[00:27:42] There's a little bit of work involved, but you do get that piece, so I have that sitting in my way.

[00:27:47] Oh yeah, well, the match will burn cropped to you.

[00:27:50] That's like a double-edged sword, I suppose.

[00:27:54] Maybe towards the end of this season.

[00:27:57] But for now, that's where you end up.

[00:28:01] The main thing right Story Mode is the name implies it gives you a chance to see how it ends up and so.

[00:28:08] How does it end up?

[00:28:12] Just, I don't know if Quentin Tarantino is somehow infiltrating

[00:28:21] the Blizzard Storytelling or Cinematic Department or design or what the deal is.

[00:28:28] Somebody over there has a clear and distinct foot finish because my god, every time we're seeing something with Zalatath, is got to be feet.

[00:28:42] And in the cinematic at the end of the raid when you kill Quentin Tarantino and she appears, basically to say like,

[00:28:49] well, you are a means to an end.

[00:28:51] Love shit, bro.

[00:28:52] There is a shot that is literally you just like looking at Queen Answer Exhead, they're on a ground and she's dying and the feet are sending.

[00:29:00] And give you a good shot of the toes and the toe rings and the whole thing and then she comes to the ground.

[00:29:06] And it's been, she's just Christ.

[00:29:08] It's been everywhere and I'm sure for the foot fetishist among us, this is the godsend of all godsends.

[00:29:15] Listen, I'm not here to King Shame necessarily but holy shit, bro.

[00:29:20] Is it really Zalatath that people are lusting for or is it those digits?

[00:29:28] It's still purple pinkies.

[00:29:32] I don't know, man.

[00:29:35] I honestly didn't know it set until I saw the memes because I was like, no, not so, so inclined.

[00:29:42] I was impressed when people actually pointed out and then I went looking for it.

[00:29:51] Oh my god, there's actually, there's a lot of detail in this pinkie.

[00:29:56] Oh, man, I don't know.

[00:29:58] It's funny.

[00:30:00] It is, it has been hilarious to watch as Zalatath has become this, you know, centrally listed over figure and many respects.

[00:30:12] Through the wow communities since she was first introduced and don't get me wrong.

[00:30:19] Great model, the way that they've set this up, I can see the appeal on many levels.

[00:30:25] It's just hilarious to be also that this one has feet and we never see anybody that's just kind of dang little amount there like that.

[00:30:33] And you know, they did a good design, they look great.

[00:30:36] But the story itself, alright, that's pretty much where it ends up is not a lot of, you know, that a lot of to do.

[00:30:44] Queen Antsorek means to win end was a distraction, the whole thing with the Nerubians, right?

[00:30:50] It was meant to be hey, look over here, look over there.

[00:30:54] Wall, Zalatath is over here trying to steal Beladars power and of course we know that that didn't quite work out.

[00:30:59] But I did notice in this cinematic after you kill Queen Antsorek, the Dark Heart does not appear.

[00:31:06] You don't see that without them.

[00:31:09] Oh, I don't know what noise that.

[00:31:11] So when you go back, if you go back and look like in her hands or hands or empty, if once some point she clasps them together, she's sort of taunting Antsorek because she's dying.

[00:31:20] But she does not have the Dark Heart with her, so now that that's been damaged, I don't think it's been destroyed.

[00:31:27] I think this has been damaged, grew from if I'm wrong.

[00:31:30] Does she have to drop it off the shop somewhere? Where do you think that's it?

[00:31:37] Well, obviously don't know. I would presume, as we saw it, it's cracked a bit, we didn't see it get destroyed.

[00:31:50] So I suppose you get never paid.

[00:31:54] Is that in a red acron thing?

[00:31:56] Yeah, it's like she's gone to a red acron's dark heart repair shop.

[00:32:01] Oh, so then?

[00:32:04] He's in there, he's got his goggles on, his protection mask on, was that there, you know, doing a little metal work.

[00:32:14] I don't know, maybe it's glass work. I don't know, what are you going on in the front of that thing? I guess it's glass, huh?

[00:32:19] We do the little stained glass work.

[00:32:23] Little glass shop, go to one of those glass blowers. But that's what I'm doing. You know, he's full of hot air.

[00:32:28] All right, he's a dragon. He's just doing glass work. That's what he's been doing.

[00:32:32] So now he's got to make a replacement cat.

[00:32:34] That's what it is.

[00:32:36] But interesting to see no Dark Heart, but she's still out there doing her things, disappears into a fog and that's kind of where we are as far as the story goes.

[00:32:47] We've at least for the time being we have stopped Zalatath from doing whatever it was who's trying to do with Beladar and the Dark Heart.

[00:32:55] We've stopped Queen Anne Syrek, they were trying to write a send all of these various new rubyans but her plans essentially backfire to everybody's turn on her and now we'll just end up rooting out corruption down there in her land now that she's gone.

[00:33:11] And it kind of wraps it up fairly nicely as far as that part goes. But, Jess, where do you think we go from here?

[00:33:22] I see, don't know man. I keep trying to work with that because this so many young aspects of this, like you mentioned a really grown.

[00:33:35] Like what's his role to play in this? Is he just a boy in his time waiting for the Titans to show up or something?

[00:33:40] It doesn't chronicle the Titans a dead, but are they dead?

[00:33:45] The Titans truly die. There's a lot of aspects and conspiracy theories and all this kind of stuff popping up.

[00:33:54] I honestly, I've been trying to like sometimes I can make some good predictions about where stuff like this is going to go.

[00:34:00] I'm going to go this on, stone to run. I've got it. What is it? I'm going to go clean.

[00:34:05] And it's kind of nice to know I'm a cleaner to be honest. It means it's not obvious right?

[00:34:12] I feel like they're doing their job, that's how we feel. You don't mean like...

[00:34:17] It takes the magic out of it, I guess, maybe the best way to say it, like oh yeah, I know we're going and I know what we're doing. This is what it's going to be.

[00:34:24] And they've given us somewhat of a roadmap to the general future, but as far as I'm going to catch them.

[00:34:31] You can infer like a bunch from the just the Titans and the expansions.

[00:34:38] That's better to say.

[00:34:40] So we got the Midnight which refers to darkness, I guess, which is the next one.

[00:34:49] And then after that you got the last Titan. That could mean a lot of things.

[00:34:54] It's a thought, a thought, a guess. We never saw him really truly dead. He's still out there.

[00:35:01] Exactly. And then we got Azeroth and... Oh, what else?

[00:35:09] I'm going to send a crazy theory that Zalatath is a world soul, not a old god.

[00:35:14] Ooh, oh, that's that too. God knows what all this is all going.

[00:35:22] But from the dev interviews with very Hamilton, he was hinting that they'd already worked out the Midhistory Beats, which potentially risky.

[00:35:35] That means they're sitting there in a document somewhere, and everyone at Blizzard knows the story.

[00:35:41] And someone gets laid off and feels guilty about it that could lead that shit.

[00:35:47] It's a somatosil like me. He might have been a description, but...

[00:35:52] Even if someone leaked out to me and it would get like a million hits, there's no way in how I would spoil the story of expansion that he's like Mars and Mars out.

[00:36:03] But it's just... Yeah, I don't know, man. Do you have any, do you have any ideas? What are you thinking?

[00:36:10] Well, we're underground, right? We're underground.

[00:36:13] And I know for a long time we've heard these rumblings about some sort of goblin, something underground.

[00:36:24] Undermind. Yeah. Undermind. There you go.

[00:36:27] And I could see somehow that being, you know, out of that field, hey, run around.

[00:36:34] There's this area. We need some help with this thing or whatever it is and now we're pulled into some other area zone.

[00:36:41] Because one of the things that you mentioned before was that, you know, this whole expansion is very vertical.

[00:36:48] And so the lands themselves is not the biggest land mass that we've ever had.

[00:36:53] And so I could see them kind of bringing in other smaller areas of like, oh, we've never explored this.

[00:36:58] Who we've never explored this and finding allies and different things.

[00:37:03] My secret hope is that something transitions with Beladar because of whatever Zalatath was doing.

[00:37:10] Like, it was enough to disrupt. I don't know. The cocoon of that in a room or whatever was happening in there.

[00:37:17] Because I have a little bit of a crazy theory on my own and correct me if I'm wrong about this because this is my biggest clue.

[00:37:27] And, um, in, oh, God damn it.

[00:37:33] Where's, all right, where are the zones? The zone name is just looking at my mind.

[00:37:36] Bringing deeps.

[00:37:37] Okay, okay, bringing deeps.

[00:37:39] As carrying deeps.

[00:37:40] When you're in when you're on the surface on the out of dawn, there, there is at least one if not two.

[00:37:47] I know of one elevator that you can take down to the ringing deeps, right?

[00:37:54] And then there's a portal that you can take to get to Ashka.

[00:38:00] Is there something like that to get to hell if I'm.

[00:38:06] I don't think so.

[00:38:10] No, no.

[00:38:11] Not that I'm aware of.

[00:38:14] And if that is true, if I just haven't found it, then okay, please correct me someone because it's annoying the shit out of me.

[00:38:21] But if I'm right and there isn't, I think how the fault changes.

[00:38:26] I think something happens to how the fault.

[00:38:27] I think how the fault gets phased in some way.

[00:38:32] And something major disrupts that land and something something goes on in there because it's, if it was static, I feel like there would be some way to be able to portal in or go in or do something.

[00:38:45] But if something gets massively disrupted in there, they don't want to have that and then take it away and then have to kind of explain this through some weird phasing tech.

[00:38:54] So I don't know, I think some, I think some bad shit goes down on how to fall.

[00:38:58] I think something major like, fucks that place up.

[00:39:01] So yeah, but you don't invest, just talking from an analytical perspective, you don't invest in an environmental feature like a lidar for it to not be significant in somewhere.

[00:39:17] So yeah, I can, I can please that completely scans of me.

[00:39:22] Something big, something big.

[00:39:23] So that's, you know, kind of where we are right now. Got our own theories. Of course, we'd love to hear any of y'all's out there, so please hit us up and we'll talk about it on the show.

[00:39:36] One of the things you brought up before two is how long is this patch going to last because we talked about like the 20th anniversary and stuff like that.

[00:39:46] And there is data mining to suggest that patch 11.0.5 will go live October 22nd, so in a month and go until January 4th of 2025.

[00:40:04] So is that, that's the anniversary stuff, right? Right.

[00:40:09] So season one all the way through to January quite a long time.

[00:40:14] I was going to say, if that is the case, do you think that that's going to be an issue or do you think that the holiday season kind of fills in some gaps there makes it less challenging?

[00:40:31] I don't know, I mean a lot of the content for that seat for that many season revolves around the anniversary.

[00:40:43] We have only seen a little bit of the little bit of it so far and it hasn't hit, it hasn't hit the PTR yet.

[00:40:51] I'm, if I'm thinking correctly, right? I think there's some of it on there.

[00:40:56] I can't, I would not be surprised if we see like, because you know, there's some class or a herotry reworks there.

[00:41:04] And I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of them.

[00:41:07] And I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the dev work right now is basically finishing the game.

[00:41:13] What they should have done in a buyer really.

[00:41:17] But oh wow, this is modern game to burn them now.

[00:41:20] It's in the last minute.

[00:41:25] Oh yeah.

[00:41:27] Well, I don't know if I release any major story beats but they have hinted in previous interviews.

[00:41:36] Whether when I was talking to them about story, they did sort of say through Dragonfly we did add these little story lines.

[00:41:44] And they were like a bunch of little extra little story lines here and there.

[00:41:48] But they added in mini patches, not even like seasonal patches so it's true.

[00:41:52] It's actually yeah, maybe they were.

[00:41:55] And we don't even know we have no idea what's on the 2025 roadmap because they haven't released it.

[00:42:01] We haven't seen anything beyond this essentially what's going to be this anniversary patch.

[00:42:08] So we have to know the Rob Muppet's holi.

[00:42:10] Nope.

[00:42:10] They did that before for Dragonfly.

[00:42:13] They're not this one.

[00:42:14] We haven't seen it.

[00:42:15] We've seen 2024 right starting in Dragonfly, you know mystery pirate patch like all the way through to the 20th anniversary for us at the end of this year which looks like they're going to hit all the time post that they wanted to hit.

[00:42:30] But yeah, it's still a bit of a mystery and.

[00:42:35] I'm going to be interesting to see and I assume that.

[00:42:40] Within I don't know got to be within a few weeks we're going to start hearing something about what's next or what's getting.

[00:42:48] Talked about out there and I know our man on street just Gordon will be right there first in line for interviews with those fine blizzard devs.

[00:42:57] What's it helps so.

[00:42:59] I've been.

[00:43:01] I've been.

[00:43:03] Last last thing on the rate itself the race for world first is on.

[00:43:09] And oh look at that it's liquid echo and method.

[00:43:14] And the top three.

[00:43:17] Oh boy.

[00:43:19] What a surprise what a shock.

[00:43:24] I'd probably the one thing on the biggest asshole about is like.

[00:43:28] I desperately want to see new blood.

[00:43:31] I just need to see some of the problems.

[00:43:35] Hey, we could have a separate podcast about issues with.

[00:43:39] E sports.

[00:43:41] There's just no money in it.

[00:43:43] But for all but the absolute top of the top.

[00:43:46] Best thing is.

[00:43:47] And that's um you know.

[00:43:49] It's just no money.

[00:43:51] It's just no money in it.

[00:43:52] So you know unless you like someone who's sponsored by AMD or Intel something like that,

[00:43:57] you ain't gonna.

[00:43:59] You ain't really going to see much new blood there I think.

[00:44:03] And it's a shame you know.

[00:44:05] But that's the problem.

[00:44:05] That's the problem we spoil.

[00:44:10] Everyone in the world sort of believes in soccer.

[00:44:14] Our size soccer for the Americans this thing.

[00:44:16] They're soccer.

[00:44:17] Soccer.

[00:44:18] Everyone in the world except America believes in soccer.

[00:44:20] So there's like there's just abundant sponsors for that.

[00:44:23] But not enough people in gaming in the industry.

[00:44:28] All of gamers as opposed really care about e sports.

[00:44:32] And because it's like per game basis, you get like a niche of a niche.

[00:44:36] Like it's a niche.

[00:44:38] So if world of warcraft is a niche of the gaming.

[00:44:41] Overall gaming part then it's a niche of that niche who are into these sports.

[00:44:45] Which severely limit how much money there is.

[00:44:49] And therefore, like proxy severely limits.

[00:44:52] How many new blood you're gonna get?

[00:44:54] Unfortunately and I know Microsoft doesn't really care about e sports from very frank conversations of hard to pay for that.

[00:45:01] It's a shame but it's what it is.

[00:45:05] Do you see soccer one more time for us?

[00:45:07] Soccer.

[00:45:08] God I love.

[00:45:11] That is a dead on American accent.

[00:45:15] Thank you.

[00:45:15] I'm pretty sure American accent.

[00:45:16] What's the national bully that cool?

[00:45:21] The soccer one.

[00:45:23] No, the soccer one.

[00:45:24] Oh, MLS?

[00:45:25] Major League Soccer.

[00:45:28] MLS major league soccer.

[00:45:31] Only on CNN sports.

[00:45:34] Oh, what ever sports show you over there.

[00:45:36] ESPN but that is damn good sir.

[00:45:38] That is I'm gonna I'm gonna send that in.

[00:45:41] I got I got I got a voice over guy.

[00:45:44] Dr. Mamanjets.

[00:45:47] That was brilliant.

[00:45:48] That was brilliant.

[00:45:49] Oh, I was so nervous.

[00:45:50] I saw the word.

[00:45:51] Ice.

[00:45:52] It's the it's the dream of every podcaster.

[00:45:55] No.

[00:45:55] Yeah.

[00:45:56] This is to get in and be like please dear god let me do this ad for corn nuts or whatever.

[00:46:02] Yeah, for race for world first if I if I use the example bad news bears does that mean anything to you?

[00:46:08] Do you know who that is?

[00:46:09] No.

[00:46:10] Okay.

[00:46:11] There's a wonderful American film called the Bad News Bears and this goes back I think that's like the 70s or the 80s.

[00:46:18] And it's essentially about like a terrible team of children on a little league team on a baseball team for kids that

[00:46:27] They're terrible.

[00:46:28] The coaches are drunk.

[00:46:29] Like it shouldn't work, but yet they go out and they kick ass and take names.

[00:46:33] Like that's that and that is the kind of team that I'm looking forward to enter the race for world first.

[00:46:37] It's just some rag tag bunch of nobody's to come in there and just kick ass and take names.

[00:46:43] That when that day happens, I'll be awesome.

[00:46:45] Shit all sponsored that team.

[00:46:47] I don't have a lot of money to give but I'll give them something.

[00:46:51] And you know, unshackled fury happy to sponsor the rag tag bunch of nobody's that want to take down the race for world first monkey months.

[00:46:58] I mean, fast.

[00:47:00] And at the meantime, as you alluded to earlier, Miss Gordon, you put out an article.

[00:47:06] Wonderful article.

[00:47:08] Earlier this week.

[00:47:10] Well, you also had your review for the war within which was also wonderful.

[00:47:16] I encourage everyone is over to owindowscentral.com and take that out.

[00:47:20] But you had won this past week about balance when it came to endgame solo play.

[00:47:29] And it's something that we've seen as you mentioned earlier again.

[00:47:35] Blizzard is really struggling.

[00:47:37] It seems like with the difficulty of the delves in specifically and what should that be for solo play?

[00:47:49] What should that be for group?

[00:47:51] What, you know, how does that break down?

[00:47:53] Who is this supposed to be for?

[00:47:56] And for folks, maybe they haven't checked it out yet.

[00:48:00] What did you have to say about this specific topic about solo delves and sort of the challenges that Blizzard is facing right now?

[00:48:10] Well, the title of the article was something along the lines of delves or raw somber.

[00:48:18] The balances are nightmare right now.

[00:48:21] Because Blizzard, like I even wrote in the article by the time this article goes out,

[00:48:24] Blizzard probably will have hot fix to get again and loving the whole they actually did.

[00:48:29] And fair play to them.

[00:48:31] Like the rapid iteration is what you want to see when you go new feature that maybe is in the landing as well as it should or could be.

[00:48:38] So it's good to see them working hard to try and fix some of these issues.

[00:48:45] At the same time, there are issues.

[00:48:48] And the issues for me are too fold.

[00:48:53] And I want to know if you agree with me on this because you either either the end of the young or when it comes to,

[00:48:59] you know, the fact that it's designed for more casual players at the end of the day,

[00:49:07] but red is like me using it to supplement gear.

[00:49:13] I'm running it for gear for raiding, which is kind of like the feeds the point of raiding.

[00:49:21] You know, before we would have had to run normal mode, you know, to prepare for heroic and now we don't.

[00:49:27] We just run out of four delves.

[00:49:30] We'd have to run, you know, mythic plus the gear and now we don't because of delves.

[00:49:36] I think that the reward, the risk to reward ratio is a bit off because delves.

[00:49:44] And it's off for me as a demonology wallock because my fellow guard is like having a personal plot warrior with me.

[00:49:53] And he just tanks everything while I just stay on the back chili.

[00:49:57] In the same article I wrote about how my disc priest, which is like my second, it's like my old, you know.

[00:50:06] My main old, I suppose you could call it.

[00:50:09] But this priest, by comparison, is having a fucking awful time.

[00:50:13] I can't, I can very barely get through or scrape through crawling on my hands and well,

[00:50:23] but for sake and doesn't have knees.

[00:50:25] But if my forsaken had knees, I'd be crawling on him to finish this fucking delve because it's so tough.

[00:50:31] The enemies have so much HP, just mountains of HP.

[00:50:37] And if all I'm there, all I'm doing there is shadowed pain and some might try to very slowly smite them down.

[00:50:44] He's a rough, rough experience and brand does no devious.

[00:50:51] There's no damage.

[00:50:52] So I covered him and yeah, so like the divergence in my experience between my wallock and my disc priest

[00:51:00] is all issues and yeah, this priest historically, I'm not, this one for soloing.

[00:51:09] But that's the issue here, they've built this as a solo content.

[00:51:13] So is it solo content a certain speck or is it solo content for everyone?

[00:51:20] Because like, you know, even a shadow, I really struggled with it because shadow ain't very durable.

[00:51:26] If you can't feel something, you just get smacked in the face and you're very slowly dying.

[00:51:32] You squish it.

[00:51:33] It's not like a wallock and teleport away.

[00:51:36] I've got like curse of exhaustion to snare things on demand.

[00:51:40] You know, shadowed a shadowed breeze if I want to snare something in my shadowed breeze.

[00:51:43] I have to like stand still and channel a mind flow while the mob slowly walks to me and slap him in the face.

[00:51:48] There's some, there's some like, you know, they have some abilities like the avoid technical roots or whatever.

[00:51:55] But it's more like said I historically got it solo player.

[00:52:00] So they are just way more suited to this.

[00:52:04] But there's like a lot of things that's a lot of knobs that could tweak or turn to change the situation.

[00:52:10] It's like if the game detects that, oh, there's a this priest in there who has no damage, you know.

[00:52:17] We should probably boost brands DPS by 200% in this scenario, you know.

[00:52:23] Or like I'm interested how they're going to handle some of that weird balance issues that have a reason the result of the system but on a high level,

[00:52:33] I think it's really important for the game and if they get it right, if they can nail it, it'll be something that will expand

[00:52:41] Wow's footprint to those solo players who historically have felt there's no gear progression that can really get out of the game.

[00:52:51] So I think for me in closing it'd be a, I really want to see every class have a as easy time as mobile up.

[00:53:01] I really want to see, I really want to see them also really,

[00:53:09] I really want to see how the amount of loot you get from it and the quality of the loot.

[00:53:16] Because when you do a bountiful del, you are guaranteed champion gear.

[00:53:21] When I do a mythic plus dungeon which takes a lot longer is a lot more painful, especially if I'm tanking or healing, dealing with randoms.

[00:53:30] I'm not even guaranteed loot at the end of that fucking run.

[00:53:33] That half an hour miserable slug fresh through a tier four five with a bunch of people who are undergird for it after organising the group and dying a million times being yelled at all that stuff.

[00:53:45] And then I'm not even guaranteed loot again, so I can do all that stuff and get a pedaling little handful of valestones which is a whole other problem with this season.

[00:53:53] And the fuck are the valestones? The right thing.

[00:53:57] So that's how I feel about it right now as someone who is pv oriented, but how do you feel about it?

[00:54:04] As someone who, like we said, have said, joking about earlier, kids busy can't play all day like the old days response.

[00:54:13] Dad responsibilities, things I haven't, I'm not aware of myself yet, but how do you feel about it?

[00:54:22] It's been such a breath of fresh air, just generally right where it's my personal schedule is this where you gotta work, I work during the day whatever come home, we got dinner, we got hang out with kids chill with my wife, watch a show.

[00:54:39] And then she'll go to bed, because she was just better than me and then all get maybe an hour to 90 minutes a night where I can do what I wanted.

[00:54:55] And with the availability of something like a delve, even within an hour right, it gives me enough time to run a delve maybe two if they're going kind of fast, bang out a couple world quests and then I feel like every night, every day that I play, I'm making some progress towards something.

[00:55:14] And with the delve specifically, in terms of their, sort of their challenging nature and how they're tuned, there is sort of a point where you want it to be challenging but not to the point where like, ah, it's going to take me a month to gear up to do this or two months or longer.

[00:55:39] Or it's going to take me a whole season like the, um, the journal, the delve, journal or whatever when you go to brand and there's that journal on the table and you can look at it and see like your season progress.

[00:55:53] I don't know how many delves you have to run the fill that thing up, but it is a fuck ton because I know I've run a ton of these things and I'm not even at the first little node.

[00:56:04] And there's a tower many of them there are, you know, you get some of the schematics with a flying thing and all that, you know, the, whatever the original, whatever the thing is.

[00:56:15] That feels a little off, I'll be honest like if I got to run a 10,000 delves to fill that thing up on you know, I'll never make it and that just feels defeating.

[00:56:24] But I'm right, I'm at Tureate right now that's where I'm at and honestly I feel like the challenge, the level of challenge for that is probably appropriate for the level of gear and for my skill level.

[00:56:34] And all of that and so I'm working now to I need a few more pieces. I need a few more things to kind of help get me up to that next step because I did jump in and I took on a few early trash bags and start to get known a little quicker than I was before and I'm like, okay you know, I think I need a little bit more help.

[00:56:52] And so I feel like it's, it's about where it should be but at the same time like you said.

[00:57:00] The companion that you have in a delve really makes a difference because if you have let's say something, you know, like, you know, what you have for warlocks or maybe like hunters have or something like that you have some other entity that you can put out to help you tank or take, you know, take the beating while you're blowing them up.

[00:57:17] Yeah, that is a huge help. If you've got brand everybody's completed about brands DPS I don't you know I have to use them as a healer and sometimes he's great and sometimes he's I'm like, where is he what happened?

[00:57:30] Like sometimes he's overhealing me and I'm like, yeah, I'm a badass and I'm just blowing all this stuff up and then I'll get to the next thing and I'm like, where are my potions?

[00:57:37] Where are my potions? What's going on? I don't get known. And so, you know there's a little bit of variability in there that can make a difference and I haven't played any other classes yet to go through a delve but.

[00:57:51] There is inherently going to be imbalance just because of the nature of how certain classes are able to solo content and part of that.

[00:58:01] Challenge for blizzard is, are you able to make such my new changes where you can specify to the spec or to something like that to that effect of we're going to move the, you know, move the variables around a little bit. So if you're this, you get a little bit more or something or a little bit less of something, you know, are they able to tweak it within there or is it just this is the flat rate for each one and this is how it goes and we'll try to, you know, make it easier harder or if it's supposed to be solo.

[00:58:30] I'll ask all our people like, oh hey, just grab a buddy and do it as a two or three or whatever and you blast right through it. You're not the solo in this stuff without the pizza the whole fucking purpose.

[00:58:38] It should be harder as a group. It should be damn impossible as a group. Like it's supposed to be solo stuff. And I'm being a little for Seaches when I say that but the point being is if it's supposed to be for solo play don't, don't make it easier in a group.

[00:58:53] Like it should scale crazily if you're going in as two or three or whatever. Maybe two is okay because you're doing with the partner and I kind of get that but I kind of feel like if you are doing a tier eight five Mandel with the guaranteed piece of loot at the end, it should feel like doing a, I don't know, whatever the equivalent mythic plus run is that rewards that tier of loot at the end and right now it doesn't.

[00:59:23] It's, it's, it's brainless. If you're doing a five tier eight with five people, very much brainless instantly easy don't even need a good composition for the group really as long as long as this is a little death night tank in it like you don't even need to do it. You know,

[00:59:44] the balance is whack and I think like the way that it rewards loot is potentially problematic for the parts of the game, especially when since mythic lost doesn't reward loot but guaranteed loot at least. So I don't know man will I suppose it remains to be seen or it finds the health of the game.

[01:00:05] But I think the idea is that it will appeal to people who just who are like, I will never group. And I think I think Blizzard's mission of making content for that cohort is absolutely admirable and important that should be the goal that it's, they've really got to be careful not to undermine whatever already got.

[01:00:25] Yeah, those are the people who, you know, won't the game. It's six players right now. They want to expand or know new markets and new audiences and I, I've heard recently for example, there is a team working on how the game will handle on a controller.

[01:00:48] It's not like, it's not like a big team. It's not like a poor and reactive. I'm just like a side project kind of team.

[01:00:56] But I have a they are actively working on what does well look like with a controller.

[01:01:02] And because of the popularity of console pool, the console pool add on which you like should play on Steam deck with a controller.

[01:01:08] And there's a similar situation where it's like some classes were great with the controller.

[01:01:13] You know, like you read part of it or death night, you know, I've only got two action bars on my death night and you can easily map those.

[01:01:22] Use like the shoulder buttons or shift keys and then like the face buttons or the ability buttons, you know, you've got like a whole bunch of keyboards there.

[01:01:29] But I'm at this priest. How the fuck am I going to specifically target people with a joystick?

[01:01:36] It's going to be very odd, you know.

[01:01:38] Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Yeah.

[01:01:40] So what they're going to do automatic more automatic healing stuff if you're using the controller.

[01:01:47] Like chat like the way channel works or you know prioritizes no health people. There are things that can do there.

[01:01:53] But again, it's like the expanded to no audiences like with this round about a very sort of way of talking about how they're expanded to no audiences with those and can't be the detriment of the other parts of the game.

[01:02:06] But we'll see what goes.

[01:02:08] Yeah, I know you're absolutely right. It's it's there's always going to be people that look to I don't know if exploit is the right word, but you know maximize everything to their advantage when it comes to.

[01:02:18] Yeah, then maxing exactly.

[01:02:22] And there's almost nothing you can do. There'll always be those people that fight over the difference between 0.01% of something like that's just it's just always going to be out there. So philosophically, are you creating for them or are you creating for other folks? This has been my argument for the longest time is that no risk for world first all due respect to the folks that do that at the top of what they do, the best at what they do.

[01:02:48] But is that really who we need to cater the game for? I don't think so because a lot of those folks are hit it and quit it when they come in they gear up they do the thing they bang it out we get it done on mythic. Hey hooray, and then where do they go they disappear?

[01:03:02] There's the next five months like that's to me. That's not the core audience. That's not the core player. You know, that's certainly not why I make this podcast for or we make this podcast for it's it's you know for a broader audience and that's why I think they need to be

[01:03:15] Thinking about into your point bringing in more folks got to bring in more folks and for years. I know Nevox

[01:03:22] You know friend of the show former co-host he's

[01:03:26] Inscrimin about put it on Xbox this get the controllers out list, you know, let's make that port happen for World of Workcraft forever and you know way better than I do

[01:03:36] I'm sure that when that happens is going to be a huge influx of people to World of Workcraft who've never touched it or haven't in a long time because that's now a way for them to access this game

[01:03:48] That is way more economical and way more familiar in many respects. So

[01:03:54] One just be the Xbox either like if they do do this it's going to be PlayStation 2. Like that one might get Xbox exclusive because Blizzard is a multi platform studio at the end of there

[01:04:05] Draw like this it'd be like so like if Xbox will blow it up a considerable amount PlayStation will really blow the fuck up seriously you get people who

[01:04:14] Laps players who come back try it again. You get like you know if they're mocked too well and so you can play it so low

[01:04:22] He's the delves and all this stuff, you know they get those people back

[01:04:26] So it's a big opportunity, you know, that's why getting delves right is absolutely super important

[01:04:32] It can't be like

[01:04:34] I feel like when they added

[01:04:36] They're looking for dungeon thing for example

[01:04:40] They're looking for dungeon, but I did that in rap, bro. It was just like

[01:04:46] Run and players whatever

[01:04:49] It did it changed the game in

[01:04:53] Not what is the best way so like it was the sort of beginning of

[01:04:58] But the whole the whole industry's gone this way since then so it's not really what just wow's full

[01:05:02] But it really changed the community in in in in some ways I think for the worst and I think you did contribute to the big drop off

[01:05:11] We saw in cataclysm

[01:05:12] There's like there's a huge massive influx in rap, and then a cataclysm rolled around a lot of the community aspects of the game have been sort of

[01:05:19] He rode it and destroyed and people didn't feel so beholden to the game. Well, I don't know

[01:05:24] But even if that example is inaccurate there are sort of all the times when they've added something

[01:05:30] It's sort of not gone down well, so I'm interested to see how it goes

[01:05:36] Yeah, yeah and we'll

[01:05:39] Definitely be keeping an eye on the scaling because I know you and I are both pretty invested in this system and how this is going on and I mean overall right

[01:05:46] Working out great and it's great. Yeah, it's the fine tuning as you said

[01:05:50] It's kind of the nature of

[01:05:52] Development these days is your still putting the the tracks in front of the car

[01:05:57] It's going down the road

[01:06:00] To some extent, but

[01:06:01] One other thing I wanted to touch on with the delves is I'm sure if you've been around

[01:06:06] It's stuff you've heard about the zek fears layer of this sort of

[01:06:10] You know

[01:06:11] Boss of the delves if you want to think of it that way the in-boss of delves

[01:06:15] And we've talked about it on the show before if anyone's interested in such thing you may have seen him

[01:06:21] When you're in a delve. I know I've seen him at least few times and

[01:06:25] None of those times were good for me because there was still like 10 other mobs in the room and I got smoked and you do get an achievement for getting killed by him

[01:06:34] Which was a nice little you know, no, to the ribs there

[01:06:39] Not too much a

[01:06:41] From the Ablo

[01:06:42] There you go

[01:06:43] The Ablo can just randomly spawn in dungeons and smack your face in as well. That's right

[01:06:48] That's right

[01:06:49] There you go, so you know

[01:06:53] It's it's it's a nice little nod

[01:06:57] But for folks looking to get a more static version of this that you can overcome

[01:07:02] There is a difficulty in an initial difficulty for zek fears layer an actual place that you can go and fight him

[01:07:09] After you clear a delve

[01:07:11] To your eight to your eight delve with

[01:07:14] Revives remaining or lives remaining and there is a second difficulty

[01:07:20] Harder difficulty that's unlocked after you complete a tier 10 delve and there are some things that you can get out of this

[01:07:27] It's a long fight so prepare yourself

[01:07:30] From what I've seen from videos. It's you know

[01:07:34] The solo play so it's intended to test you kind of like a raid boss

[01:07:37] It's gonna take some time and you got to do a lot of stuff and you know, you got to figure out how to kind of manage each aspect

[01:07:43] Of the fight so it's not just something where you walk in and kill the guys got whatever

[01:07:48] 100 million health or some shit, so you gotta be ready to put in the work

[01:07:53] But if you're interested if that's something that you've been looking for

[01:07:58] That's how you get them good luck

[01:08:00] Because I got my ass kicked

[01:08:02] Points times. I mean, that's not necessarily indicative of anything because I again. I'm not the greatest

[01:08:08] But uh, I don't know maybe if I was a warlock

[01:08:11] It might be easier

[01:08:13] How

[01:08:13] Just and I run in a little short on time just for you folks

[01:08:18] Because that's how life goes and like I said you better appreciate every hour we put in because it is true cinema

[01:08:24] But one last thing that I did want to touch on before we go is jazz

[01:08:29] It is breakfast

[01:08:32] Yes, it is

[01:08:33] It is breakfast. It is the

[01:08:36] For me is the official start of the best time of the year for world of warcraft as we go from breakfast

[01:08:43] Into how is end

[01:08:45] Is it like the best times for world of warcraft? I don't know why for me. It's just

[01:08:51] Most nostalgic I guess so

[01:08:53] Brutfest going on right now September 20th to October 6th all the usual stuff you can go get corn diet

[01:09:00] Bruty go raise some rams you can go get drunk and go stuff yourself with sausage you can get

[01:09:05] You know there's a brew master title. There's a rams. There's mountains. There's toys all kinds of cool stuff

[01:09:11] So you go to your party's respective parties ironboards those where I go

[01:09:16] For the line side folks. Uh, the other ones where or go more?

[01:09:21] Yes, I believe so there you go

[01:09:25] For me

[01:09:27] I'll always lament

[01:09:29] The fact that they had the

[01:09:32] Brutfest goggles which cheated you

[01:09:35] Of having to actually get drunk and see the pink elixx

[01:09:39] And I think there's a horrible horrible thing

[01:09:41] You should make those children drink so they'd understand the dangers of being in you know being an ebraated in public

[01:09:48] But for you, Jazz

[01:09:50] Do you participate in a brewfest as a brewfest? Hold any special meaning for you?

[01:09:55] Or is it just another another other thing in the game is not ready?

[01:09:59] It's funny because I mean Germany right now. I need to prove fest here. IRL oh shit

[01:10:04] So like the dissolve of the you know October fest stuff going on in my town and all that kind of stuff

[01:10:10] There it is. It was when I saw it

[01:10:12] When I saw it in Germany, I was like oh that means it's brewfest in WA

[01:10:17] Sorry, therefore because I was in I was in the Alps last week. I was at a little minivocation for three days

[01:10:22] To the Alps and there was there was some stuff there you know preparing for it and it was like oh shit

[01:10:27] That's how the fest then um

[01:10:30] I've done all the brewfest stuff

[01:10:33] So I got the time I wanted to title

[01:10:36] To make a brewmaster all to one point and

[01:10:40] And then I was like shit. I actually really hate playing this class

[01:10:44] So um it was always time

[01:10:48] Yeah, I mean

[01:10:50] It's it's fun and nice a bit of flavor right but there were words on that interest in I was looking at I was looking on my champion early for the

[01:10:57] Rewards are the sheer and they've had in about it a brewfest a brewfest

[01:11:02] A dragon in the protodr the the protodrike from dragon flight and I was like yeah

[01:11:09] I'm I'm right now. I ain't gonna ride a dragon ever again. I'm sick of them

[01:11:14] And the other things like some of the older Rewards like

[01:11:18] After the pretzel on it I kind of do you can't kind of do something better here

[01:11:22] You know this is what I think they should do right what do they do?

[01:11:27] And it's a season all the event like a brewfest Christmas

[01:11:33] Thanksgiving whatever

[01:11:34] It's always weird by the way we get the Thanksgiving event in Europe and everyone everyone's like what the fuck?

[01:11:41] Okay, what is this shit

[01:11:42] It doesn't make any sense in Europe. But we get it anyway

[01:11:46] Like Halloween stuff like that what they should do right they should give you

[01:11:50] During those weeks

[01:11:52] They should be a mythic affix or a delve affix that is related to the event and

[01:11:59] You know just to add some more flavor. So like for delves. I don't know it could be like

[01:12:04] The current affix for delves is Zekpiz influence so

[01:12:09] Next they hand it this orange everyone power around a group of enemies and if you kill all three the three the groups

[01:12:14] You get some additional under coin and journey programs to your

[01:12:19] Progress bar which none of us are ever gonna finish so

[01:12:24] That's the current affix but what if you're like during brewfest it was like you're attacks have a random chance to

[01:12:32] That was your enemy in beer and then you next create sets them on fire or something

[01:12:36] I don't yeah

[01:12:39] Like um, oh

[01:12:40] I don't know you your attacks have a random chance to

[01:12:44] Born a beer keg which you can drink together buff all your enemies can drink together buff if you don't get it before

[01:12:52] They do I don't know something like that, you know

[01:12:55] I love that kind of cool. Oh

[01:12:58] And I want

[01:13:00] I think there's something they

[01:13:02] That could make the events a bit more interesting I think

[01:13:06] They've probably got bigger fish of horror right now trying to fix those

[01:13:11] You know I was just thinking like

[01:13:14] For warriors

[01:13:16] There's a there's a talent you can take where

[01:13:19] You would have just randomly as part of your white damage you would just have like an extra like a weapon throw

[01:13:27] All right it'd be awesome if every once in a while, you know you like through like a heavy sausage

[01:13:32] That's somebody and like being them in the head with it and it's like oh I was doing some extra damage to have you

[01:13:37] Fucking awesome. Yeah even if even if it wasn't like a mechanical because like that that after balance and affix and

[01:13:42] I do all that stuff do it make it cosmic like that yeah, I'll be maybe my crits throw

[01:13:48] I don't know snowballed the enemy during Christmas or

[01:13:52] Some in

[01:13:54] Randy is fucking I don't have it bad some people would be so grumpy about that though

[01:13:59] It'd be like oh so storm. I don't want to see blue fest beers flying why are they wasting time on this?

[01:14:05] Yeah, well, they're always telling this. Yeah, it's like you can't please everyone I guess you haven't felt anything

[01:14:12] No stay away from those forms folks

[01:14:17] Yeah, breakfast like I said on going and it's going on until October 6 so if that's your jam

[01:14:25] What are formats in?

[01:14:27] Go and enjoy that. I know I always do solve I'll make my

[01:14:31] yearly pilgrimage and stop by for a hot minute

[01:14:34] Remember I've done everything completed everything

[01:14:37] So

[01:14:38] Enjoy if that is your thing

[01:14:40] All right, and I think we've done enough damage for one episode for those who don't already know

[01:14:50] I am over on threads such as cornjays and c.o.rdn and also to air if you still one of the few people still using that website

[01:15:03] I'm we'll craft actually doing so much wall craft content recently
