Berzerker and Jez are live from the BlizzCon 2026 Media Village! Hear now their initial thoughts on the weekend’s big announcements, including World of Warcraft Forever and Retail, Heroes of the Storm, along with STARCRAFT (!!!) and more!
[00:00:01] Hi everybody, Berzerker and Jez on Unshackled Fury Podcast and here we are at BlizzCon, it's day two. We're in the fancy media village that yes, for whatever reason, they gave me access to, but Jez is the king of BlizzCon, you guys gotta understand he is royalty here, so very lucky to be here with this band today, but big hits this weekend, big hits this weekend and we're just gonna kinda cover some big hits
[00:00:31] well we got a few minutes that we stole here, we're actually in the Overwatch room as you'll notice behind us, this is not Warcraft art, this is Overwatch art, this was the nice little room that Jez was able to convince somebody to let us use for a few minutes, so lots of excitement this weekend, Jez got to be in his first BlizzCon in Hall D, getting the power and the vibe and the energy and the love of the big announcements on the first day, so I wanna kick it to you first
[00:01:02] first impressions, being in the main hall, opening ceremony, how was it? It was crazy, I've never experienced anything like that, you know, I've been to Xbox events and you know, Xbox Fan Fest is like dozens of people, this was like thousands of people and you know, it was like being at a gig or something, the only comparable thing I can think of comparing to this is like when I went to see like bands like Gojira and stuff like that,
[00:01:29] yeah, slipknot on corn you know, like it was just crazy, the energy and the sense of community and people meeting up and hugging and I met someone earlier, that I met like 20 years ago, more than 20 years ago, like 25 years ago as a teenager and we met for the first time here at BlizzCon because we both play WoW, yeah, and otherwise like there's just no way we could like meet you know,
[00:01:58] because we live on other sides of the world right, it's crazy man, there's nothing like it, nothing like it. That's, that's, that's the thing you hear me talk about and other people talk about in the community, it's just BlizzCon, it's just has its own, it's its own vibe, it's part salesmanship, it's part family love letter, it's all these things going on.
[00:02:17] So for us more locally, World of Warcraft for retail, not the biggest year we kind of knew that that was going to be the case with sort of the odd space that we're in with the World Soul Saga, probably too early to announce some things considering we haven't seen how midnight resolves.
[00:02:36] But we did see some stuff in 12-2, we saw Zalatath is coming, finally getting to the World Core, we saw that awesome cinematic that they showed where basically she just owned whatever Titan security protocol was there. I've got a big theory about it. Let's hit it, what is it? My theory about that, oh actually no, no, this was about the last Titan, I'll leave it, I'll keep going, sorry. Okay. My theory is about the last Titan, we'll get to that in a sec.
[00:03:01] Okay, we did see, they did give us the one little glimpse of Dragon Blight, that shot you could see the Wormrest Tower and Icecrown Citadel and then there's something massive looming in the distance which I know immediately you shot me a comment and a look as to what that might be. Yeah, I think that's Ulduar, I think that robot is literally Ulduar. That's the Voltron that was meant to be.
[00:03:27] Yeah, and I'll tell you why I think this, I know Chris Metton is a huge Transformers fan. Yes. And in Transformers, they're a city size Transformers like Metroplex. That's right. And I was sitting there thinking, that is literally Ulduar transformed into a giant robot and I bet you we're gonna have Ulduar attacking, we're gonna have Uldum, there's a giant robot attacking from the south. Hmm.
[00:03:52] And like, you know, I can't remember the other Titan facilities off the top of my head but there's like a lot of like, what was the other one? Ulderman. Ulderman. Ulderman's gonna rip out of the ground down there. And I bet every like patch going through is gonna have to deal with one of these giant Titan complexes that have turned into like giant robots to purge Azeroth of all sentient life and all the corruption.
[00:04:17] And that, cause, and this is what I think, I think Algalon was gonna trigger this. I think Algalon was gonna trigger this and we convinced him not to and that we're sent in life he's good enough to protect Azeroth by itself. We convinced Algalon not to do it. And now we've fucked it up enough that Algalon's gonna like, okay, these guys have, these guys have failed. Let's bring on Metroplex. We blew our second chance.
[00:04:45] And, uh, and you know, the Saga Ass is literally Unicron from Transformers. It looks exactly the same. You know, Chris Metzen is such a huge like Transformers guy. Like you can, you can feel like, that's the first thing I thought. It does have that vibe. It's literally Metroplex. I don't know. It does have that vibe. The only reason I know any of this stuff is my brother is a huge Transformers nerd. And, you know, I like Transformers but like not, not like that much. Yeah.
[00:05:15] So I was just like, that is, that's Alduar. I think that's Alduar coming down from, from, from Storm Peaks out of the clouds. He was coming from that direction. He was coming from Storm Peaks. He is coming from that direction. It's coming from, that is Alduar. That's my, that's my theory. Okay. All right. Well, that was, that was pretty much all we got. Yeah. When it came to Last Titan, we did get an updated roadmap. And, you know, when we have our next episode, we're going to go through all of BlizzCon.
[00:05:42] More of the stuff that we saw that, you know, we loved and different things. And we'll have the roadmap up for that. So it does look like we'll get a Last Titan reveal come springtime. Yeah. So I'm sure that'll be the cinematic and the whole thing. And I'm looking forward to that. And I'm sure that, uh, the other, I mean, really the big, big thing that came for the Warcraft community was obviously World of Warcraft forever.
[00:06:05] Which is the answer to what is the classic plus mystery secret project, whatever you want to call it. And there was clearly something in the works that they've been teasing it forever. And it looks like they've landed on this kind of gentle in between of a period of time, at least story wise before World of Warcraft begins.
[00:06:31] But it's the sort of classic experience one through 60. And now we're going to have expanded zones. We're going to have new dungeons, new raids. So new life being breathed into kind of the older version that people have been asking for more of, it seems like. And we've talked about, you know, what would a classic plus look like?
[00:06:55] And you've seen what's happened in some other places where they've taken the client and added their own personal quests and done different things. And people seem to resonate with, I want to stay in this world. I love the exploration. I love all of these different things, but it doesn't exist beyond a certain point in classic or vanilla or whatever it might be. And there's been demo stations, tons of demo stations out on the floor. Seems like it's getting a really positive reception thus far from the people that I've talked to. Um, I've got to get my hands.
[00:07:25] Folks, I know you guys can't see it. I'll try to take some video of this place. This is a whole media village going on here. And there's these kind of makeshift rooms that they've got. There's a whole other section next door where they've got all these demo stations and every major outlet's got a table and a whole thing. So if you've seen videos from like PC gamer or from some of the other outlets where they've interviewed some of the devs, it's right next door. So I'll try to snap some photos for you folks. Um, but, uh, yeah, we, we now know.
[00:07:56] And so far, at least from what I've seen, it seems like people have received, they've received it pretty well. You can't please everybody. Um, I know you already had a question about why is there another elf and another neutral race? Cause that's exactly, that's what we talked about. I'm fucking sick of Elf. Yeah. It gives you another tree to burn down. You should be thrilled.
[00:08:23] I was like, I was trying to be like, so like nice. Cause I asked, I asked a bunch of people, like I've interviewed a bunch of wild devs this weekend. And I was like, why the hell's man? Why are you killing me with these elves, bro? And I, I always like I've interviewed Eon repeatedly. I've interviewed Eon more than any other game dev now. We've, we always, every event, it's always like a meet Eon. First thing I always say to him every time is where's my fucking ogres? Let me tell you, this is true.
[00:08:52] There's another PR lead and we were talking and he's like, just asking about ogres. Like it's, you are a known entity when it comes to your ogre love and wondering where they are as a class. Genuinely though, it's frustrating. It's like, like they, this was a perfect opportunity to give like, like to have the high elves, you know? Why does it have to be a remixed elf, you know? And why couldn't it just be high elves and blood elves? You know?
[00:09:21] And their response to me was like, we're basically doing this for faction battles because whichever, whichever faction has access to the blood elf model, the faction skews towards the blood elf model. Apparently the blood elf model is that popular. They gave you some statistics, I believe. Yeah, they did. And to be fair, to be fair to them, I, I remember, I remember it happening on my server. You know, I remember my server going from mostly Alliance to mostly Horde because of blood elves. I play on a role playing server.
[00:09:49] And now that like, um, Alliance now has access to the blood elf model repeatedly, thanks to Drakthea. Um, now it's like, my server is now like 80% Alliance now. So like part of me is like, but. Sounds like a great place to live. Yeah. This is this, this, the faction balance argument like doesn't fully hold up kind of. Mm. Cause now you've got for one faction that's super pretty, you know? Yeah.
[00:10:18] And, um, I don't know, but. Skyborne looked pretty, pretty awesome. I did. I went and played them earlier a little bit. Um, and I, I played World of Warcraft with an Xbox controller for the first time. I heard there was controller support coming for forever. Full, full Xbox controller support. I think it's only Xbox controllers so far, X input controllers. I don't know if DualSense, the PlayStation thing or whatever it's called is going to be supported. But, um, I did give it a go. Uh, surprisingly intuitive.
[00:10:46] You hold, you hold one of the shoulder buttons to, uh, tab target through enemies and the other ones tab target through friendlies. If you want to, if you're a healer or whatever. And then there's like, um, use ABXY for your key binds and the D pad for key binds. So you've got eight key binds there. And then you've got like hold down right trigger to shift to another bar. Oh yeah. Hold down left trigger to shift to another. I bones, hold them both down, shift, shift to another bar. Oh man.
[00:11:14] So it's like, you've got like 32 key binds on ABXY and the D pad. So like key binds isn't the issue. I thought like targeting would be the issue. I couldn't figure out how to strafe. Cause you play in a hunter or anything really that wants to kite, especially in classic where kite in was like more of a thing. I think, um, I couldn't figure out a strafe. So like when you, when you, uh, pull back on the joystick to, to move backwards, you don't backpedal.
[00:11:42] You, you, your whole character turns around. Okay. You can't kite very well, or you can't strafe or do that sort of like, you know, I'm just angling my character slightly running that way. Well, throw in instant cast spells in the direction. If you got it, you don't know what I'm talking about. Cause you play a warrior, but like, you know, if you for life. Yeah. So like if you're, if you're a range class and you're running away from the warrior, you want to be able to strafe and kite a bit. So, you know, maybe that there's some fine tuning left. There's some fine tuning. Yeah.
[00:12:11] But, um, it was, uh, it was very, it was very impressive out of the box. They call it an alpha test. So, um, I presume this is going to be refined over time. And, um, people already using controllers for well, like the console port add on for steam deck and the Xbox ally and things like that. And people are keep asking me like, it doesn't mean where I was coming to console. And I did ask Eon. Um, and, uh, and I also asked the whale classic team and both of them were like, no, there's no, we're not, we don't have planned yet to bring it to console or Xbox.
[00:12:40] Um, we're still focused a hundred percent on PC. This is just reflection of the fact that more and more people are using console port. They are using steam deck or an Xbox ally or a Nova Legion go whatever to try and play well. And like the add ons aren't always, you know, accessible to people on those devices. So, um, it's just about bringing a popular add on to the UI, which is what they've been doing for the last two years. Anyway, we've mixed success. Right. Yeah. But, um, yeah, it was interesting. I did, uh, I did try out sky born. Uh, it's just blood elf.
[00:13:10] You know, it's just another elf. Christ. We had to have our own pretty elves on the Hawaiian side, not just the night elves. We needed the, the prettier ones. Yeah. But I've seen people complaining. Like this is like, it goes against the classic spirit of, um, faction conflict, you know, and now we've got a neutral race coming out of the gate and it's like, that's kind of not in the spirit of the faction conflict. I've seen that criticism, but, um, they told me they want to tell the story of, um, die more.
[00:13:38] So it's a lot of it's to do with Prince. What's his face. I can't remember his name begins with a T. It's very Elvick kind of Elvish kind of name. Um, if you remember all that storyline from die more back in the day, you came in wrath, right? I came in burning crusades. Right. So I only saw it after the fact. Yeah. So die more is a very ogre coded dungeon. That I do know. Yeah. So like the die more actually has a really fantastic and interesting story.
[00:14:04] It's kind of like, it ties into the high elf lore and Queen Azshara and you know, the, the high elf cast kind of abusing the undercasts and basically life tapping them to summon demons and you know, the whole Azshara thing. So it's kind of like some of this skyborne stuff. They were kind of hinting that it feeds into that narrative that die more, which is like how did die more end up the way it is now?
[00:14:30] And you know, what's the history there of that kind of people and you know, cause and that kind of stuff. So it does sound like that they've thought it through and it is one of them like, cause there's a lot of gaps between Warcraft three or even like further back, like in Warcraft lore, there's a lot of, a lot of things that just appear, you know, as part of the story. Like die more just kind of appeared, you know, and, and, um, well, it was physically there in classic, but like it was came as part of a post launch content patch, if I remember correctly.
[00:14:58] Well, they're fleshed out. I can't remember, but it like that kind of appeared and the law came with it. And then like, you've got stuff like, um, you know, the under city just kind of appeared in world of Warcraft classic. Right. And between like Warcraft three and one of the other announcements that I know was Warcraft three is getting a, yes, an expansion. How's going there next? Yes, sir. It's going to explain how the under city was founded and came about.
[00:15:24] So it does feel like there is, they want to fill in some of the blanks of the general well, well forever is an opportunity to do that to some degree. But then also said like, this isn't, we're not restricting ourselves to the core timeline. Right. So like, you know, the bronze dragon flight talk about like, there's like a main timeline and there's like threads of what ifs that can sort of peel off. Yes.
[00:15:49] They said like the major, the major story beats are going to be there. Like Arthas isn't going to suddenly not become the Lich King in WoW forever. Or Illidan is still going to be an Outland. Like the major, major plot threads are going to be there. Yeah. But they're not going to, they said they weren't going to tie themselves to, um, too hardcore to the law. And they were going to tell like some what if stories, things that could peel off from the main narrative.
[00:16:13] Yeah. And that's kind of what the Skyborne kind of fit into that. It's kind of like a what if. And just before I wrap up on that point, one interesting theory I've read about Skyborne is that they do exist in World of Warcraft retail. Yeah. But the Exodar smashed into their island, blew it up and blood mist is actually the bloody vaporized remains of the floaty Skyborne.
[00:16:38] Skyborne. Oh my. I think that kind of works because they're kind of floaty in the air elemental. Yeah. It's like, cause that's blood mist isn't really explained either. Is that just, are we just walking through the remains of the dead Skyborne? I kind of like that idea. What? I think that's, that's hilarious. I saw that on Reddit. I thought it was fantastic theory. Oh my God. Cause I think that's a, that's a befitting end for the stupid. Well, I mean, it does, it does raise an interesting question about, you know, you're introducing new races that it's a,
[00:17:08] you know, you're introducing new races before time, but then they're gone. And you know, it, it, for the purists out there, I feel like forever is going to introduce, you know, Continuity problems. Yeah, but you just gotta kind of, I think you just gotta kind of accept it and just kind of roll with it.
[00:17:24] And you know, the, the adoption of it, I think is what I'm most interested to see with forever is clearly it's something that they want to make truly evergreen and exist in this specific lane. And once it hits in November, like it, I mean, it's right around the corner. It'll be interesting to see what the long-term viability of that is. That will be, I think really the true challenge.
[00:17:53] It's going up against Grand Theft Auto, which is kind of crazy. I love that. I kind of balls. Good job, Liz. Don't be afraid of these people. Just, just go for it. But yeah, but what you mentioned, we talked about it for a second there, but Warcraft three getting full content additions all these years later. And it's a pretty good, you've got the, well, now it's kind of being spread across a few things, but you've got the undead Paladin now being a thing.
[00:18:20] And we've got the last days of Lordaeron, all the under city stuff, the battle, you know, we saw the cinematic. That was amazing. Yeah, that was phenomenal. I could feel you vibrating in the seat next to me. The origin story of Putrius, man. And you've been waiting for that a long time. Yeah. I love Putris, man.
[00:18:39] Like I, I was like, cause that whole quest chain from like Howling Fjord and Wrath from Howling Fjord to Dragon Blight, you're a Forsaken player, especially that, that storyline hits so hard. And then like the Wrath gate. And then there was that event, which isn't delete from the game now, but there was the whole under city rebellion. I loved that whole set. That was incredible. And I think that is, that was peak wow. That storytelling was peak wow storytelling for me. Like you, you weren't the champion or the hero.
[00:19:08] You were like, you know, a horde soldier adjacent to this, all these events that were going on. Right. And as a, as an undead warlock at the time, like a Putri, Putrius with tier eight old war gear was just the peak, peak warlock, you know? And I, I, I love the guy. I hope he shows up in Heroes of the Storm someday. Cause I think he will. I'm kind of, I kind of think. Well, and again, another big announcement.
[00:19:33] So, you know, we, we won't go on too long here cause we don't actually know how long we have this room. Keeping people outside and thinking that they're waiting for us. I know they're waiting for us. Yeah. Well, it's kind of a pirated situation. So just enjoy whatever it is that you're getting here. Um, we had some other big announcements, uh, just while we have a few minutes here, one Heroes of the Storm. Mm. Coming back, new hero introduced, more on the way. And that was right out of the gate.
[00:19:58] And Johanna Ferry seems like very personally invested in getting that out. Oh yeah. And that was a, that was a huge one. I know you were very, we, we talked a little bit beforehand and it felt like there was probably going to be some sort of hots piece about this. And now you got confirmation that it's back. I tweeted a Zalatak gif last week on Twitter. And, um, I saw that. Yeah. I was kind of like, I won't leak it cause that's mean, but I was really excited for it cause I knew it was coming.
[00:20:28] But, uh, it's, uh, I put one of the first things I wrote when Xbox acquired Blizzard was, Yeah. Xbox needs to revive Heroes of the Storm. Yes. It didn't have the numbers that Bobby Kotick, the Activision CEO wanted. Right. Out of his franchises. And he was kind of famous for this where it was like, you know, even guitar, guitar hero was so huge. But the moment it was huge. But the moment it fell below a certain threshold, it was killed.
[00:20:56] Skylanders was so huge. The moment it fell before. Remember that? Yeah. And the same thing happened to Starcraft two, Heroes of the Storm, you know, all these kinds of things. It was like no niche allowed. There's no niches allowed under IBK, right? Yeah. But Xbox does things very differently. You know, they've, they were like, yeah, it's niche, but let's dominate that niche. You know, they've got Edge of Empires, Flight Simulator. Yeah. Like, I'm not a Flight Simulator guy, but that passionate, that community is so passionate, right? They definitely are.
[00:21:24] So like, you can, you can serve those communities sustainably well, and grow horizontally rather than like vertically, like the old regime kind of wanted, right? So, I think this is, Heroes being revived and Warcraft 3 as well, it's kind of like, it feeds into that sort of general Microsoft strategy of like, let's dominate niches and meet people wherever they are, no matter how small the audience is, as long as the passion's there. And clearly, the passion for Heroes is absolutely there.
[00:21:53] And it was fantastic to see. Well received in the hall, for sure. We also got, I think it was a bit of a surprise for a lot of folks. We got Diablo 5 teaser right out of the gate. All hell has broken loose. Yeah. Literally. Literally. And figuratively. I am, I actually heard about Diablo 5 over the summer. And I was told it's in, it's in production now.
[00:22:19] And I was like, I was speaking to my round who's like, co-host on my Xbox podcast. And we were discussing Diablo 5 and I'm like, is Diablo 5 going to be there? And we both like, it's way too early to talk about Diablo 5. But here we are, man. Here we are. I've got two things about Diablo 5. Like a lot of people saying it's too early. And I'm like, Diablo 4's already had two expansions. Yeah. Diablo 5's not coming until 2029. So they're not abandoning Diablo 4. They're still going to make content for Diablo 4.
[00:22:48] They're still going to drop new classes for Diablo 4. And Diablo 4 is going to keep going. But like, I think it's a good thing that we're not going to be waiting decades between games, Diablo games anymore. Yeah. But I also think like, and this is something I've tried to get an answer out of them this weekend. I think one of the issues Diablo 4 has, and this is an issue Destiny has, not to get too in the weeds because I don't know when we're going to get kicked out.
[00:23:13] But like, Destiny is unsustainable because it's got so much always online components. Dedicated servers, and those cost money. They cost more money than ever because of AI now. Dedicated servers cost a lot of money, more than ever. And those servers burn out and have to be replaced. So like, if I'm Blizzard and I'm thinking about the long term sustainability of Diablo,
[00:23:36] I've got to bring it back to what Diablo 3, Diablo 2 was, which is more like single player, but with multiplayer co-op that's peer to peer. So I think that's why it's happening more quickly is because Diablo 4 as a non subscription based always online game is going to run the issue that Destiny 2 has, which is sustainability. That's why the skins are so expensive in Diablo 4.
[00:24:01] And it feels like, God, these skins are so expensive, but it's because it's so disproportionately expensive to run. It should never have been always online. And I think that's why this is my conspiracy theory. But anyways, like on the actual game itself, I think what they announced was very interesting. I love the idea of the caravan. Yeah. I love the idea of post apocalypse. It's fantastic. Yeah. They were like Diablo out of the gate. Diablo is one. Yep.
[00:24:27] It's very interesting change of direction for Diablo, but it's also very still very Diablo. Very. Plague night is my jam already. I'm going to be a plague night baby. Don't know shit about it, but it looked good to me. It's on holy death night. I'm with it. I'm with it. Let's go. I think the game sounds amazing. And I don't know why people are mad about it. Honestly, it's coming out years away and we still getting content for D4. I don't know. The discourse is exhausting.
[00:24:57] You can't please everyone. You can't please everyone. I'm mad about elves. So I get it. You're mad about something. I'm mad about elves. You can be mad about D5 coming too early. Well, I think probably the item we can wrap up with, you know, kind of joke on this podcast that it's a World of Warcraft podcast, but at times it's become like a pseudo cyberpunk podcast. It's also a pseudo Starcraft podcast because let's be real.
[00:25:23] So we're both very excited about what we saw yesterday with that. I can't say Space Marine, right? Terran Marine. Con colon Spice Marine. Con colon Spice Marine. Sorry for him. You see this guy, poor Holt getting built up, gets in his gear, gets slaughtered. Because you knew they weren't going to do the Zerg dirty. They had to have, you know, something scary out there.
[00:25:46] But I just could feel my eyes just welling up because I was so fucking happy to see Starcraft alive. And listen, people, I know they did a whole thing and it was amazing and it was great. And then they go boom, 20, 30. You know what? It's okay. We got plenty of other stuff between here and there. We know about a lot of games that don't come out for years and years and years.
[00:26:15] We'll be, GTA six, whatever. How long has that taken? 13 years, something like that, 12 years. And you know about it forever and it's cost $2 billion. Don't worry about it. Just take a deep breath everybody. It'll be fine. But just to kind of, just kind of end on that note. I was extraordinarily happy to see that. I'm probably going to watch that cinematic once a month for the next four years and then they'll give us more stuff probably at the next BlizzCon whenever that happens.
[00:26:44] But it was, it was nice to see that we were on the right track about expecting something to come. And I know there's folks out there that want a proper follow up with a three and another RTS game. And this one's going to be an open world shooter. It's going to have kind of a different flavor to it in terms of its gameplay. But if you check out other interviews that are being done with the leads on that, you can hear more about kind of what, what they've got planned. But it all sounds great to be. Starcraft is alive and well.
[00:27:15] And I was, I was so fucking pumped to see that. I think that's one of the best cinematic's I've ever done. I think it was just the music was perfect. And there's a lot of interesting lore implications because it's the Dominion right there, the red. Yeah. The Terramarines. Space Marines. Right. I mean, can you even call them Terramarines? I don't know if they're not only from terror are they, the Dominion. My Starcraft lore is not that great, admittedly. But I think the shooter will make it very accessible to people. And I do genuinely think they'll come back to RTS.
[00:27:45] Okay. One of the things I keep hearing is Blizzard is hiring RTS people left, right and center. All right.
[00:28:19] Yeah. One of them, like the expectation for Starcraft as an RTS, I think is, um, is going to be a potentially more complicated endeavor to deliver. Yeah. So I think like let them cook. I think Starcraft as a shooter is a good way to reintroduce a new audience to the universe. Yeah. And then they'll come back with an RTS. I genuinely believe that. Um, but you know, Dan Hay worked on the best Far Cry games, which is Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5.
[00:28:47] I think Far Cry 3 is arguably the best Far Cry of all time. Probably. Um, I'm not 100% sure actually if he worked on Far Cry 5, but, um, he definitely worked on Far Cry 3, which is, you know, personal favorite game of mine. Um, he had the best characters, most memorable characters with the past and stuff. Mm-hmm. So like he get, he really gets that universe. And, um, I did think Starcraft was going to be further along because I've seen gameplay of it, like lead gameplay of it. Yeah.
[00:29:15] And, uh, what I saw and admittedly, like what I saw was taken off screen. It was blurry and it was a very small slice. It's very like clearly open world. And, you know, Terran Marines fighting Zerg, you know, what you'd expect. Yeah. But it was clearly photorealistic. It was clearly cinematic storytelling. Nice. It's kind of what I said on some, some outlets picked up what I said on the podcast. I was, I said it was a single player game, but what I was reaching for- You said that on this podcast. Yeah. Yeah. What I was reaching for was story campaign. Yeah. Well, that's what I was reaching for was story campaign.
[00:29:45] I was tired. I was trying, you know, but it's campaign based cinematic and it's not like some people were thinking it was going to be like a held over kind of PV game, um, like an online multiplayer PV game, like a letter dead or something like that. Yeah. No, this is like cinematic action. It should be amazing. And, um, I just can't wait to see more of it. But I can wait, man. I'm patient. There's so many games to play. Like- A lot coming. A lot coming. So much stuff to play. It's been a busy weekend.
[00:30:14] Uh, we're coming up close on, uh, closing remarks here, uh, probably in about an hour, give or take. So, um, lots of panels that were going on and we'll, again, we'll cover more stuff in depth. Um, for instance, I was at the housing panel that happened earlier and that was a fun little, uh, watch we had there. And there's other systems panels, different things that are going on and we'll cover them more in depth. But, uh, overall, I think it's been, I think it's been amazing experience. Um, glad you finally got out here and got your first one.
[00:30:40] And now before the night is over, the quest for the taco plate for Jez, uh, does continue and I already got a food truck out there lined up. So, uh, you don't have any dinner plans. That's what we're going to be doing. But, uh, any, uh, any last words for the folks before we, uh, sign off? No, I mean, it's just been amazing. Um, everyone has been amazing. It's, it's really like, it needs to shout out the Blizzard team. I mean, there's been some hiccups. Like there's not been enough merch to go on.
[00:31:08] And, you know, there's been people queuing and queuing and getting in. There's no merch left. So there's one stock. Oh my God. Yeah. So there's been some logistical issues, but like the sheer scale of this operation is just unimaginable. Like the amount of complexity. Uh, I think it's amazing. They pulled it off in this level of quality, super secure, way more secure than games con, you know, like security wouldn't let you go anywhere. Like at games con people were just walking around and stealing people's equipment and shit. Oh God. And I don't know if you saw all this stuff about games con, but like,
[00:31:37] games comes in a lot of shit. Cause like devs had all that kit stolen. Oh Jesus. And cause the security there was just terrible. Much better here. Yeah. Much, much better. I've been really impressed with the operation and, you know, blizzards killed it man. So, it's really exciting. You know, it's disappointing. There was not much for retail. I'm a retail guy mainly. Yeah. I was hoping to see like what the new class might be in, you know, in last Titan or something like that.
[00:32:04] I was hoping for something like that selfishly, but you know, what did you say? My job's my lobster is too juicy. My steak is too juicy and my lobster is too buttery. It's kind of, it feels weird to complain about that. There's so much good stuff. Yeah. I didn't get my augers. Not yet. Not yet. Not yet. We'll keep lobbying. But yeah, huge, huge shout out to the blizzard crew. They've treated, they treated us well. And this, this whole operation is, it is pretty insane.
[00:32:32] And I'll do my best to get some more footage of all of this apparatus before the weekend is over so I can maybe cut some stuff together and load it up. But this is a jazz and berserker here at blizzcon 2026. If you came, hope you had a great time. If you watched it virtually, hope you enjoyed the panels and we'll be back. In the next episode to give a full and complete rundown of all the cool stuff that we saw or heard or read or whatever else we want to bring to your attention.
[00:32:59] So until then, be safe, take care, keep your banners high. Farewell.
